Abstract

Pemahaman konsep matematis adalah dasar penting yang harus dimiliki oleh siswa untuk mempermudah mereka belajar matematika pada tingkat lanjut nantinya. Pemahaman konsep matematis yang baik akan mempermudah siswa dalam menggunakan, mengingat dan menyusun kembali konsep untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan yang ada. Tanpa pemahaman konsep yang baik maka siswa akan menganggap matematika adalah ilmu yang sulit dan membosankan. Siswa yang belum memahami konsep matematika akan membuat mereka sulit untuk belajar matematika. Oleh karena itu, rumusan masalah dari penulisan paper ini adalah bagaimana penerapan model pembelajaran langsung (direct instrucion) dalam membangun pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji bagaimana penerapan model pembelajaran langsung (direct instrucion) untuk membangun pemahaman konsep matematika siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Pendidikan Kristen adalah pengajaran yang berlandaskan kepada pengenalan akan Kristus, siswa subjek yang harus diajarkan dan guru berperan secara langsung untuk menuntun mereka sesuai kebenaran Alkitab. Hasil kajian penerapan model pembelajaran dapat membangun pemahaman konsep siswa dari skor rata-rata nilai dari 51,7 menjadi 66,67. Hal ini karena penekanan kepada penjelasan yang jelas, detail dan terstruktur serta umpan balik memperkuat pemahaman konsep siswa. Saran dari penelitian ini kepada pengajar untuk memberikan tantangan baru terhadap siswa yang high dan tuntunan kepada siswa yang low./Understanding mathematical concepts is an important base that students must have to make it easier for them to learn mathematics at an advanced level. A good understanding of mathematical concepts will make it easier for students to use, remember and reorganize concepts to solve existing problems. Without a good understanding of concepts, students will find that math is a difficult and boring science. Students who do not understand mathematical concepts will make it difficult for them to learn math. Therefore, the problem formulation of this paper is how to apply the direct instruction model in building students' mathematical concept understanding. The purpose of this study was to examine how the application of the direct instruction model builds students' understanding of mathematical concepts. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Christian education is teaching based on the knowledge of Christ, students are subjects to be taught and teachers play a direct role in guiding them according to the biblical truth. The results of the study of the application of the learning model can build students' concept understanding from the average score from 51.7 to 66.67. This is because the emphasis on clear, detailed, and structured explanations and feedback strengthens students' concept understanding. Suggestions from this study to teachers to provide new challenges to the more advanced students and guidance to low performance students.
