Abstract
ABSTRAK
Keaktifan siswa ketika mengikuti pembelajaran merupakan bagian penting untuk dapat mendatangkan pembelajaran yang efektif. Kenyataannya siswa kelas 7 belum menunjukkan keaktifan selama proses pembelajaran. Hal ini terlihat dari sikap siswa yang tidak memberikan perhatian, tidak mencatat materi, dan menunjukkan rasa bosan sehingga untuk membantu keaktifan siswa diperlukan penerapan model discovery learning. Penulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bahwa penerapan pembelajaran discovery mampu membantu keaktifan siswa dan mengetahui langkah-langkah dalam penerapannya. Metode yang dilakukan dalam penelitian adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif. Model discovery learning memotivasi siswa untuk berperan aktif selama pembelajaran dengan mengikut sertakan siswa secara langsung dalam proses penemuan sehingga siswa mampu menemukan pola dari suatu konsep. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa discovery learning mampu membantu keaktifan siswa. Diperoleh data siswa yang memerhatikan penjelasan guru awalnya 41% menjadi 82%, siswa berani mengemukakan pendapat awalnya 29% menjadi 76%, dan siswa aktif berpartisipasi dalam diskusi kelompok awalnya 35% menjadi 88%. Siswa merupakan gambar dan rupa Allah yang di pandang berharga. Hal ini menuntun guru untuk dapat mendorong siswa mengembangkan segala kemampuan dan potensi yang dimiliki melalui keterlibatan siswa secara aktif di dalam kelas sebagai pertanggungjawaban terhadap identitas gambar dan rupa Allah. Saran untuk penelitian selanjutnya adalah menganalisis model discovery learning dalam membantu pemahaman konsep siswa./
ABSTRACT
Student activeness when participating in learning is an important part of being able to bring effective learning. In fact, grade 7 students have not shown activeness during the learning process. This can be seen from the attitude of students who do not pay attention, do not record material, and show boredom so that to help student activeness, the application of the discovery learning model is needed. This writing aims to find out that the application of discovery learning can help student activity and know the steps in its application. The method carried out in research is a descriptive qualitative method. The discovery learning model motivates students to play an active role during learning by involving students directly in the discovery process so that students are able to find patterns from a concept. The results of the study found that discovery learning was able to help student activity. Data were obtained on students who paid attention to the teacher's explanation, initially 41% to 82%, students dared to express their initial opinions 29% to 76%, and students actively participated in group discussions, initially 35% to 88%. Students are precious images and likenesses of God. This leads teachers to be able to encourage students to develop all their abilities and potentials through active student involvement in the classroom as an accountability for the identity of God's image and likeness. Suggestions for future research are to analyze discovery learning models in helping students' understanding of concepts.
