Abstract
Menulis adalah hal yang penting di proses pembelajaran karena dengan menulis siswa mampu memenuhi tujuan dari pembelajaran dan siswa mengalami proses pertumbuhan melalui menulis. Guru sebagai penuntun memiliki peran yang penting dalam mempersiapkan pembelajaran dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis siswa. Namun pada kenyataannya masih banyak siswa SMP kurang mampu dalam menulis teks deskripsi. Hal ini dikarenakan siswa belum menemukan strategi atau metode yang tepat dalam belajar. Oleh sebab itu, tujuan dari penulisan paper ini yaitu memaparkan metode inkuiri untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis pada siswa melalui metodologi penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Dinyatakan bahwa metode inkuiri mampu dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis teks deskripsi pada siswa karena siswa mampu mencari dan menelusuri secara kritis dan mampu merumuskan sendiri pembelajaran. Guru hendaknya sebagai gambar dan rupa Allah yang diberi akal dan pikiran, meneladani Yesus dalam mengajar sehingga dapat memberikan metode yang tepat. Peran guru dalam menuntun harus mempersiapkan pembelajaran yang membawa siswa untuk bertumbuh baik secara kognitif, afektif, psikomotor dan semakin serupa Kristus dan dapat menjadi berkat bagi lingkungan. Saran bagi guru adalah mengenal siswa terlebih dahulu dalam mengambil suatu tindak lanjut dan disarankan memanfaatkan metode inkuiri dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis siswa. Untuk sekolah, hendak memberikan training bagi guru akan metode ini. Untuk peneliti selanjutnya, hendak memanfaatkan metode lain untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis siswa. / Writing is important in the learning process because by writing students are able to fulfill the learning objectives and students experience a growth process through writing. Teachers are guides who have an important role in preparing learning to improve students' writing skills. However, in reality there are still many junior high school students who are less capable in writing. This is because students' needs have not been met properly with appropriate strategies or methods. Therefore, the aim of writing this paper is to explain the inquiry method to improve students' writing skills through descriptive qualitative research methodology. It is stated that the inquiry method is able to improve students' writing skills because students are able to search and explore critically and are able to formulate their own learning. Teachers should be the image and likeness of God who is given reason and thought, imitating Jesus in teaching so that they can provide the right method. The teacher's role in guiding must be to prepare learning that leads students to grow cognitively, affectively, psychomotorically and become more like Christ and can be a blessing to the environment. Suggestions for teachers are to get to know students first in taking a follow-up action and are advised to utilize inquiry methods to improve students' writing skills. For schools, we want to provide training for teachers on this method. For future researchers, they want to use other methods to improve students' writing skills.
