Abstract
Pemahaman siswa adalah aspek yang penting dalam pembelajaran. Pemahaman
siswa adalah aspek penting dalam mencapai tujuan pembelajaran dan
mempermudah siswa untuk mencapai ranah kognitif yang lebih tinggi. Namun,
fakta menunjukkan bahwa siswa kelas X pada salah satu sekolah di Jakarta belum
optimal dalam pemahaman melalui suatu materi bahasa Indonesia. Melalui hal itu,
guru melakukan upaya peningkatan pemahaman siswa dengan menerapkan model
discovery learning pada teks bacaan anekdot. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk
melihat ada tidaknya peningkatan pemahaman siswa dan memaparkan
pengimplementasian discovery learning dalam meningkatkan pemahaman siswa
dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif melalui data dalam PPL 2. Siswa adalah
representasi Allah yang dianugerahi akal sehingga perlu meningkatkan pemahaman
siswa sebagai respons terhadap anugerah Allah tersebut. Peningkatan pemahaman
siswa perlu peran guru Kristen sebagai fasilitator yang mendorong siswa aktif
dalam menemukan dan memahami suatu konsep. Selain itu, guru Kristen sebagai
rekan kerja Allah turut mendorong siswa untuk mengenal dan memahami Allah dan
kebenaran-Nya. Peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa pengimpelementasian discovery
learning melalui teks anekdot dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa. Dengan
demikian, peneliti menyarankan agar peneliti selanjutnya lebih mempertimbangkan
penerapan model pembelajaran yang lain dalam jenjang SD dan melihat kebutuhan
siswa.
Kata Kunci: Pemahaman siswa, Model discovery learning, Teks anekdot/Student comprehension is an important aspect in achieving learning objectives and
making it easier for students to reach higher cognitive domains. However, the fact
shows that grade X students in one of the schools in Jakarta have not been optimal
in understanding through an Indonesian language material. Through this, the
teacher made an effort to improve students' understanding by applying the
discovery learning model through anecdotal text. The purpose of this research is to
see whether or not there is an increase in students' understanding and to explain
the implementation of discovery learning in improving students' understanding with
a qualitative descriptive method through data in PPL 2. Through this research, it
is reminded that students are God's representation who are endowed with reason
so that it is necessary to improve students' understanding as a response to God's
grace. Improving students' understanding requires the role of Christian teachers as facilitators who encourage students to be active in discovering and understanding
a concept. Not only that, Christian teachers as God's coworkers also encourage
students to recognize and understand God and His truth. The researcher concluded
that the implementation of discovery learning through anecdotal text can improve
students' understanding. Thus, the researcher suggests that future researchers
should consider the application of other learning models at the elementary level
and look at the needs of students.
