Abstract

Penting bagi industri perhotelan di daerah Bogor sebagai daerah pariwisata untuk menyediakan kualitas kamar yang baik, dan hal ini merupakan tanggung jawab utama karyawan dalam departemen housekeeping. Mereka juga diharapkan untuk melakukannya dengan moral yang tinggi, namun terdapat karyawan housekeeping Hotel X di Bogor yang melakukan berbagai perilaku yang melanggar peraturan dan mengancam kesejahteraan perusahaan, yang mengacu pada workplace deviance behavior. Salah satu faktor yang diyakini dapat meminimalisir workplace deviance behavior adalah meaningful work. Permasalahannya adalah terdapat beberapa karyawan housekeeping di Hotel X yang mempersepsikan diri bahwa mereka mempunyai tingkat meaningful work yang tinggi, namun ternyata mereka masih saja menampilkan workplace deviance behavior. Studi ini bertujuan untuk melihat apakah terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari meaningful work terhadap workplace deviance behavior karyawan housekeeping Hotel X di Bogor. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quantitative correlational dengan desain penelitian cross-sectional non-experimental. Hasil yang diperoleh dari 45 karyawan housekeeping menggunakan alat ukur Work as Meaning Inventory dan Workplace Deviance, menunjukkan meaningful work tidak memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap workplace deviance behavior. Namun ditemukan mereka yang berada pada rentang usia 46 tahun sampai dengan di atas 61 tahun mempunyai tingkat meaningful work yang lebih tinggi, dibandingkan dengan mereka yang berada pada rentang-rentang usia di bawahnya. / It is important for the hotel industry in the Bogor area as a tourism destination to provide good quality rooms, and this is the main responsibility of employees in the housekeeping department. They are also expected to do so with high morals, however there are housekeeping employees at Hotel X in Bogor who carry out various behaviors that violate regulations and threaten the company's welfare, which refers to workplace deviance behavior. One of the factors that is believed to minimize workplace deviance behavior is meaningful work. The problem is that there are several housekeeping employees at Hotel X who perceive themselves to have a high level of meaningful work, but it turns out they still display workplace deviance behavior. This study aims to see whether there is a significant influence of meaningful work on workplace deviance behavior of Hotel X housekeeping employees in Bogor. The research method used is quantitative correlational with a non-experimental cross-sectional research design. The results obtained from 45 housekeeping employees using the Work as Meaning Inventory and Workplace Deviance measuring instruments, show that meaningful work does not have a significant influence on workplace deviance behavior. However, it was found that those at the age range of 46 years to over 61 years had a higher level of meaningful work, compared to those at the lower age range.
