Abstract
Students’ behavioral engagement is seen as a crucial factor in students’ learning success because it is a barometer of effective teaching. However, during the second practicum at a private school in Lampung, many students showed low behavioral engagement. This is where the role of a teacher is needed to provide appropriate learning methods for their students. One of them is implementing interactive learning. Therefore, this paper is to explain the implementation of interactive learning in improving students’ behavioral engagement in the classroom activities. The researcher used three strategies to implement interactive learning in the classroom: question and answer sessions, buzz sessions and role-playing. These learning strategies would encourage students to improve their behavioral engagement in the learning process. The researcher suggested to teachers to implement interactive learning not only once but can be applied continuously in every lesson/Keterlibatan perilaku siswa dipandang sebagai faktor penting dalam keberhasilan belajar siswa dikarenakan keterlibatan perilaku siswa merupakan barometer pengajaran yang efektif. Namun, pada praktikum kedua di sebuah sekolah swasta di Lampung, banyak siswa yang menunjukkan keterlibatan perilaku yang rendah. Di sinilah peran seorang guru dibutuhkan untuk memberikan metode pembelajaran yang tepat bagi siswanya. Salah satunya adalah dengan menerapkan pembelajaran interaktif. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan penerapan pembelajaran interaktif dalam meningkatkan keterlibatan perilaku siswa dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar. Peneliti menggunakan tiga strategi untuk mengimplementasikan pembelajaran interaktif di dalam kelas, yaitu sesi tanya jawab, sesi buzz, dan bermain peran. Strategi pembelajaran ini dapat mendorong siswa untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan perilaku mereka dalam proses pembelajaran. Peneliti menyarankan kepada para guru untuk menerapkan pembelajaran interaktif tidak hanya sekali saja, tetapi dapat diterapkan secara terus menerus dalam setiap pembelajaran.
