Abstract
Pendidikan Kristen bertujuan membimbing siswa untuk mengalami pertumbuhan
melalui persekutuan dengan Allah. Siswa sebagai ciptaan Allah seharusnya bisa
aktif berinteraksi di kelas. Pada kenyataannya, terdapat siswa tidak aktif yang
terlihat saat siswa tidak mengerjakan latihan soal, tidak melakukan diskusi, dan
mengerjakan soal secara individu. Peningkatan keaktifan siswa dilakukan melalui
peran guru sebagai fasilitator pada penggunaan metode diskusi kelompok. Tujuan
penulisan tugas akhir untuk mengkaji penerapan metode diskusi kelompok sebagai
upaya peningkatan keaktifan siswa pada pembelajaran kimia dengan menggunakan
metode kualitatif deskriptif. Siswa aktif terlihat saat memberikan perhatian,
memahami latihan soal, dan melakukan diskusi kelompok. Keaktifan siswa
meningkat melalui metode diskusi dengan langkah-langkah persiapan diskusi,
pelaksanaan diskusi, dan menutup diskusi. Metode diskusi dilakukan satu kali
pertemuan, didapati hasil empat siswa memahami materi pembelajaran dan empat
siswa lainnya belum memahami materi pembelajaran terlihat pada siswa
mengerjakan latihan soal. Siswa sudah melakukan diskusi kelompok untuk
membahas latihan soal yang diberikan. Hasil yang didapati terlihat bahwa metode
diskusi kelompok dapat dilakukan untuk mengupayakan peningkatan keaktifan
siswa dengan guru memperlajari lebih lagi penerapan instruksi dikusi kelompok
yang akan digunakan sehingga siswa dapat mengikuti pembelajaran dengan baik.
Guru Kristen perlu memahami akan panggilannya untuk menjalankan tanggung
jawab dengan mengenal karakteristik siswa sehingga pembelajaran berjalan dengan
baik. / Christian education aims to guide students to experience growth through fellowship
with God. Students as God's creation should be able to actively interact in class. In
reality, there are inactive students who are seen when students do not do practice
questions, do not carry out discussions, and work on questions individually.
Increasing student activity is carried out through the teacher's role as a facilitator
in the use of group discussion methods. The purpose of writing this final assignment
is to examine the application of the group discussion method as an effort to increase
student activity in chemistry learning using descriptive qualitative methods. Active
students can be seen when paying attention, understanding practice questions, and
conducting group discussions. Student activity increases through the discussion
method with steps to prepare the discussion, carry out the discussion, and close the
discussion. The discussion method was carried out in one meeting, it was found that
four students understood the learning material and the other four students did not
understand the learning material as seen in the students working on the practice

questions. Students have held group discussions to discuss the practice questions
given. The results obtained show that the group discussion method can be used to
increase student activity with teachers learning more about the implementation of
group discussion instructions that will be used so that students can participate in
learning well. Christian teachers need to understand their calling to carry out their
responsibilities by getting to know students' characteristics so that learning runs
well
