Perlindungan hukum yang dilakukan oleh anak-anak merupakan hak asasi anak, karena anak mempunyai hak untuk memperoleh perlindungan dari keluarga, masyarakat, dan pemerintah. Oleh karenanya hak dan tanggung jawab orangtua wajib memberikan perlindungan pada anak-anaknya, agar anak-anak bebas berkembang dengan sehat dan wajar dalam keadaan bebas mengemukakan pendapat. Anak dipaksa untuk mengikuti kehendak orangtuanya seperti dalam kasus seorang anak yang menginginkan untuk pindah agama namun oleh orangtuanya dilarang dengan memperlakukan penelantaran pada anak tersebut hal ini jelas bertentangan dengan Pasal 42 ayat (2) UU Perlindungan Anak tentang Agama serta Pasal 76B UU Perlindungan Anak tentang Penelantaran. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode normatif. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam UU Perlindungan Anak telah memberikan perlindungan hukum demikian pula dengan persyaratan yang terdapat pada agama yang telah diikuti terdahulu, namun dalam UU HAM belum mengatur secara khusus mengenai perlindungan hukum terhadap anak dibawah umur yang pindah agama. / Legal protection carried out by children is a child's right, because children have the right to obtain protection from family, community, and government. Therefore the rights and responsibilities of parents are obliged to provide protection to their children, so that children are free to develop in a healthy and reasonable condition free to express opinions. Children are forced to follow the wishes of their parents as in the case of a child who wishes to convert but his parents are prohibited by treating neglect to this child, this is clearly contrary to Article 42 paragraph (2) of the Child Protection Act on Religion and Article 76B of the Child Protection Act on Abuse. The research method used is the normative method. The results of this study indicate that in the Child Protection Act has provided legal protection as well as the requirements contained in the religion that has been followed before, but in the Human Rights Act has not specifically regulates the legal protection of minors who convert.
