Abstract

Indonesia is a country with a high penetration of social media users, as many as 56%. The high number of social media users in Indonesia today along with its attractive and interactive features make it easy for various groups to spread information and reach its audience. Yayasan Indonesia Berbicara is one of them, a group that was formed from a small discussion group has become a foundation that has a purpose to spread political awareness on young generations in Indonesia. Yayasan Indonesia Berbicara was built with a view that young generations in Indonesia is apathetic to politics, that is why Yayasan Indonesia Berbicara comes to give political encouragement and political education towards young generations in Indonesia. This research aims to know how the political awareness campaign carried out by Yayasan Indonesia Berbicara through social media. This research uses qualitative approach with explorative methodology. Data collection is done through interview and observation. The result of this research is Yayasan Indonesia Berbicara utilized social media to give political education for young generations in Indonesia. Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara dengan penetrasi pengguna media sosial yang tinggi yaitu sebanyak 56%. Dengan banyaknya pengguna media sosial di Indonesia saat ini serta berbagai fitur interaktif dan menarik memberikan kemudahan bagi berbagai kelompok untuk dapat menyebarkan informasi dan mencapai khalayaknya. Yayasan Indonesia Berbicara merupakan salah satu di antaranya, sebuah kelompok yang awalnya terbentuk dari sebuah kelompok diskusi kecil menjadi sebuah yayasan yang memiliki tujuan untuk menyebarkan kesadaran berpolitik pada generasi muda di Indonesia. Yayasan Indonesia Berbicara awalnya didirikan dengan pandangan bahwa generasi muda di Indonesia saat ini apatis terhadap politik, maka daripada itu Yayasan Indonesia Berbicara hadir untuk memberikan political encouragement serta political education kepada generasi muda di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana political awareness campaign yang dilakukan oleh Yayasan Indonesia Berbicara melalui media sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara dan observasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah Yayasan Indonesia Berbicara menggunakan media sosial dalam memberikan pendidikan politik bagi generasi muda di Indonesia.
