Abstract
Permasalahan bagi banyak siswa dalam kelas yang dapat ditemukan salah satunya
adalah rasa percaya diri rendah dapat menghambat siswa untuk mengaktualisasikan
diri mereka. Pengamatan yang sudah dilakukan menemukan bahwa masalah
percaya diri dapat ditemukan di kelas K1. Masalah percaya diri pada siswa K1 dapat
dilihat ketika siswa diberi pertanyaan dan ragu dalam menjawab. Pentingnya
mengasah percaya diri sejak usia sedini mungkin sehingga di tingkat pendidikan
selanjutnya rasa percaya diri dapat meningkat. Kebutuhan psikologis percaya diri
harus dipenuhi sebelum siswa dapat mengaktualisasikan dirinya. Kegiatan yang
mengharuskan siswa berinteraksi di depan umum seperti melalui reading strategy
dan kegiatan yang tercakup dalamnya dapat mengembangkan percaya diri. Siswa
dapat terstimulasi untuk menjadi aktif secara kognitif, psikomotor dan afektif jika
memiliki rasa percaya diri. Sikap postif seperti sopan dapat terstimulasi dan
membentuk siswa secara intelektual, spiritual dan psikologis. Peran guru Kristen
adalah untuk membimbing siswa agar menyadari potensi-potensi siswa yang harus
diaktualisasikan dengan percaya diri untuk memuliakan Allah dan mengenali jati
diri sebagai gambar rupa Allah. Penelitian ditulis dengan metode deskriptif
kualitatif. Saran bagi peneliti selanjutnya agar dapat melakukan strategi dalam
jangka waktu yang lebih panjang/Self-confidence is one of matter that can be found in the class. Low self-confidence
will block the students in actualized themselves. Low self-confidence can be found
in the K1 students based on the observation that already done. Students are hesitant
to answer the question that given by teacher. Fixing self-confidence can be done
since the students are in their early age so it will be developed following their
educational level. Before students able to self-actualization themselves, they should
fulfill the self-confidence as the psychological needs. Self-confidence can be
increased by the activities that included inside of the reading strategy. Confidence
leads the students to be more actively involved in cognitive, psychomotor, and even
affective. Self-confidence in students will stimulate the politeness, optimism and
brave. Those positive emotion will shape the students being matured intellectually,
spiritually, and psychologically. Role of Christian teacher is to guide the students
in realization of their potential that should be actualized confidently in purposes to
glorify God and knowing themselves as the Imago Dei. This journal using
qualitative descriptive method. Next research is expected to apply reading strategy
for the long-term time.
