This research explores intellectual property rights in the context of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) with a focus on barriers to legal protection of NFT works. Normative legal research methods are used with a statutory approach, using primary and secondary data and the types of data used are literature studies and interviews. The research results show that copyright is given to the creator, while property rights can be owned by the buyer, in the absence of NFT regulations that emphasize the need for a legal umbrella for Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). The Indonesian Copyright Law provides comprehensive protection, including moral and economic rights, on both civil and criminal legal grounds. One's awareness and copyright-aware use of NFT platforms is considered key to preventing infringement. Copyright buying and selling protection in Indonesia and the United States has differences and similarities so it requires in-depth understanding to be involved in the transaction. The case of Donald Trump highlights the complexity of copyright in the digital age, with advantages of strong protection and disadvantages that require special attention. This research provides a comprehensive summary of the key issues in the research, emphasizing the importance of legal protection and copyright awareness in the digital arts ecosystem. This research also provides information about NFTs as digital certificates in the cryptoart ecosystem, as well as the potential of NFTs as a solution for protecting intellectual property rights in the future. Even though there are no specific regulations regarding NFTs, the Copyright Law remains the relevant legal umbrella. It reflects the complexity and potential of NFTs in addressing copyright protection challenges, by presenting research findings and practical considerations.
