Latar belakang: Hipertensi telah menjadi penyebab utama kematian di banyak negara selama beberapa dekade terakhir dan seringkali tidak menunjukkan gejala, sehingga berpotensi mengalami komplikasi yang berbahaya. Salah satu faktor risiko hipertensi yang dapat diubah adalah perilaku merokok. Namun merokok masih menjadi masalah kesehatan yang terus berkembang. Pengetahuan dapat menentukan perilaku seseorang, sehingga perlu diteliti hubungan tersebut di antara tingkat pengetahuan tentang hipertensi dengan perilaku merokok. Tujuan penelitian: Mengetahui ada tidaknya hubungan antara tingkat pengetahuan hipertensi dengan perilaku merokok pada pasien rawat jalan di Rumah Sakit Umum Siloam (RSUS) Lippo Village Karawaci. Metode penelitian: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi potong lintang. Pengumupulan data menggunakan kuesioner HKLS dan GN-SBQ dilakukan terhadap total 112 sample. Data kemudian dianalisis dengan uji chi-square menggunakan program SPSS versi 26.0. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukan sebagian besar responden adalah laki-laki (53,6%), dengan kategori usia dewasa (62,5%), pendidikan terakhir SMA (37,5%) dan tidak memiliki riwayat hipertensi (38,4%). Hasil analisis hubungan antara tingkat pengetahuan mengenai hipertensi dengan perilaku merokok menunjukan nilai p = 0,001. Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara tingkat pengetahuan mengenai hipertensi dengan perilaku merokok. Pasien dengan pengetahuan yang baik tentang hipertensi cenderung lebih menyadari risiko merokok terhadap hipertensi dan cenderung menghindari perilaku merokok. / Background: Hypertension has been a leading cause of death in many countries over the past decades and often shows no symptoms, thus potentially leading to dangerous complications. One modifiable risk factor for hypertension is smoking behavior. However, smoking remains an escalating health problem. Knowledge can influence a person's behavior, making it necessary to study the relationship between the level of knowledge about hypertension and smoking behavior. Objective: To determine the relationship between the level of knowledge about hypertension and smoking behavior among outpatients at Siloam General Hospital Lippo Village Karawaci. Research Method: This study used a cross-sectional study design. Data were collected from a total of 112 samples using the HKLS and GN-SBQ questionnaires. The data were then analyzed using chi-square test with SPSS version 26.0. Results: The results of the study showed that the majority of respondents were male (53.6%), in the adult age category (62.5%), with a high school education level (37.5%), and had no history of hypertension (38.4%). The analysis of the relationship between the level of knowledge about hypertension and smoking behavior showed a p-value of 0.001. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge about hypertension and smoking behavior. Patients with good knowledge of hypertension tend to be more aware of the risks of smoking related to hypertension and tend to avoid smoking behavior.
