This legal research examines consumer protection in the context of illegal liquid distribution, focusing on safety issues for consumers in Indonesia. Despite existing laws such as the Consumer Protection Law, cases of illegal substances, particularly drugs mixed into liquids, persist. The study explores a specific case involving narcotics distribution in liquid form. Despite regulations, there are instances of law violations, posing serious risks like drug abuse. The research analyzes Indonesia's regulatory framework for liquid distribution, highlighting the Ministry of Trade's role in regulating electronic cigarettes and liquids. Emphasizing the importance of clear legal regulations, the study underscores the government's role in ensuring consumer safety. It discusses principles outlined in the Consumer Protection Law, including obligations on businesses, product liability, and compensation for harm. The study concludes by calling for a comprehensive approach to combat illegal liquid distribution, combining legal actions against offenders and compensation for affected consumers. It emphasizes the ongoing need for government efforts to regulate the industry and safeguard consumer safety. Overall, this research contributes valuable insights to the discourse on consumer protection and public health amidst emerging issues in liquid distribution in Indonesia.
