Abstract
Berbicara merupakan salah satu alat komunikasi yang paling efektif. Hal ini mendorong manusia untuk belajar berbicara dan membuktikan bahwa berbicara akan lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan bentuk-bentuk komunikasi yang lain. Selain keterampilan berbicara, salah satu kemampuan yang tak kalah penting untuk dikembangkan adalah minat membaca. Kedua keterampilan ini kurang berkembang di kelas IVB SD XYZ Jakarrta. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis perkembangan berbicara siswa setelah penerapan metode role-playing pada pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia, dan menganalisis perkembangan minat membaca siswa setelah penerapan metode role-playing pada pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia di Kelas IVB SD XYZ Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang terdiri dari 3 siklus dengan 4 tahapan yaitu perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IVB SD XYZ Jakarta yang berjumlah 31 siswa. Instruman penelitian berupa rubrik keterampilan berbicara dan minat membaca yang divalidasi oleh validator. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perkembangan keterampilan berbicara pada siklus pertama sampai dengan ketiga. Nilai rata-rata keterampilan berbicara 57 naik menjadi 67 pada siklus kedua dan menjadi 79 pada siklus ketiga. Nilai rata-rata minat membaca pada siklus pertama adalah 56 dan naik di siklus kedua menjadi 67 dan di siklus ketiga menjadi 80. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode role playing dapat mengembangkan keterampilan berbicara dan minat membaca siswa kelas IVB SD XYZ Jakarta. / Speaking is one of the most effective communication tools. This encourages humans to learn to speak and proves that speaking is more effective than other forms of communication. Apart from speaking skills, one ability that is no less important to develop is the ability to read. These two skill are less developed in class IVB SD XYZ Jakarta. The aim of this research is to analyze students' speaking development after applying the role-playing method to Indonesian language learning, and to analyze the development of students' interest in reading after applying the role-playing method to Indonesian language learning in Class IVB SD XYZ Jakarta. This research uses Classroom Action Research which consists of 3 cycles with 4 stages, namely planning, action, observation and reflection. The research subjects were 31 students in class IVB SD XYZ Jakarta. The research instrument was a validated speaking skills and reading interest rubric and validated by validators. The results showed the development of speaking skills in the first until third cycle. The average speaking skill score of 57 increase to 67 in the second cycle and increase to 79 in the third cycle. The average score for interest in reading in the first cycle was 56 and increase in the second cycle to 67 and in the third cycle increase to 80. It can be concluded that the role-playing method can develop speaking skills and interest in reading in class IVB students at SD XYZ Jakarta.
