Abstract

A product designer focuses on creating products that are desired by people and are also economically viable and technically feasible. Nowadays, technical aspects such as tools and materials are not a concern, but this leads to overconsumption among UPH Product Design students. As a result, issues of sustainability, cluttered spaces, and hoarding arise. Therefore, the aim of this Final Project design is to create a platform-based application for the UPH Product Design community to address hoarding and clutter space issues in studio 312, while facilitating collaborative consumption activities by developing a system for buying, selling, lending, borrowing unused tools and materials. The research methods used include observation, interviews, and questionnaires, which provide the data foundation for the Writer to develop the application. This leads to the creation of an application with two main features: selling and buying unused tools and materials and borrowing unused tools. Then, evaluation is conducted with Usability Testing using the System Usability Scale (SUS) to obtain strong indicators of success in functionality and aesthetics. The SUS score is 93.75, indicating that this application is user-friendly and helpful for students with their studio projects.
