Abstract

Merupakan jenjang terakhir yang harus dilalui seorang siswa sebelum melanjutkan ke perguruan tinggi, tuntutan dan tantangan seorang siswa kelas XII SMA adalah berat. Khususnya, para siswa-siswi kelas XII di SMA T harus melalui berbagai tantangan seperti ujian sekolah, ujian praktek, dan penulisan karya ilmiah dengan hasil cukup supaya dapat lulus. Namun, berdasarkan observasi dan wawancara yang dilakukan oleh peneliti di lapangan, sikap para siswa-siswi kelas XII SMA T tidak menunjukkan ketekunan usaha dan konsistensi minat yang diharapkan oleh guru-guru SMA T. Ketekunan usaha dan konsistensi minat adalah dua dimensi grit. Grit adalah intensitas ketekunan usaha dan konsistensi minat untuk mencapai tujuan jangka panjang. Grit juga merupakan sifat yang dapat memprediksi kesuksesan seseorang. Tidak hanya akan menjadi seorang mahasiswa setelah lulus SMA, sebagai individu dalam rentang usia remaja, yaitu masa transisi dari masa kanak-kanak ke masa dewasa, para siswa-siswi ini akan menjadi dewasa dan masuk ke dalam dunia pekerjaan. Kehidupan mahasiswa dan pekerjaan mempunyai tuntutan dan tantangan yang lebih berat dari kehidupan siswa SMA. Supaya dapat berhasil di situasi tersebut, seorang individu diharapkan untuk mempunyai grit. Berdasarkan urgensi tersebut, peneliti bermaksud untuk mengukur seberapa tingginya grit yang dimiliki oleh para siswa-siswi kelas XII SMA T. Dari 87 siswa, hasil yang didapatkan dari adalah 7 orang mempunyai grit tinggi, 77 orang mempunyai grit sedang, dan 3 orang mempunyai grit rendah. Dimensi ketekunan usaha lebih tinggi daripada dimensi konsistensi minat./Being the last level that must be passed by a student before continuing on to college, the demands and challenges of 12th grade high school students are tough. Specifically, the 12th grader students at T High School must go through challenges such as final exams, practical exams, and a scientific paper project with sufficient grades in order to graduate. However, based on observations and interviews conducted by the researcher, the attitudes of these students don't show the persistence of effort and consistency of interest expected by its high school teachers. Perseverance in effort and consistency of interest are two dimensions of grit. Grit is the intensity of perseverance of effort and consistency of interest to achieve long term goals; one trait that can predict one's success. Not only will they become university students, as individuals in the adolescent age range, namely the transition period from childhood to adulthood, these students will become adults and enter the work life. University and work life have heavier demands and challenges. To be successful in the long term, individuals are expected to have grit. Based on this urgency, the researcher intends to measure the grit of 12th grader students in T High School. Of the 87 students, the results are 7 people had high grit, 77 people with medium grit, and 3 people with low grit. The two dimensions namely preseverence of effort is higher than consistency of interest.
