Abstract
Makalah ini membahas tentang perancangan identitas visual untuk Lawana Batik Indonesia, sebuah bisnis fesyen fusion yang berbasis di Malang. Keunikan dari Batik Lawana Indonesia terletak pada pengangkatan budaya Topeng Malangan sebagai ciri khas visualnya, yang diaplikasikan pada beberapa produk dan diangkat menjadi nama koleksi. Perancangan identitas visual ini menggunakan metode yang diambil dari buku Designing Brand Identity. Hasil akhir dari perancangan ini menghasilkan identitas baru Lawana Batik Indonesia dengan tiga kata kunci utama: boldness, kultural, dan exploratory, yang mencerminkan keunikan, esensi, dan makna dari merek tersebut. Selain itu, hasil akhirnya juga berupa sistem desain yang menjadi fondasi awal dari identitas visual baru ini, mencakup elemen-elemen seperti logo, palet warna, tipografi, elemen, sistem grid, dan sistem fotografi, yang semuanya dirancang untuk membentuk representasi yang konsisten dan menarik bagi merek Lawana Batik Indonesia.

This paper discusses the design of the visual identity for Lawana Batik Indonesia, a fusion fashion business based in Malang. The uniqueness of Batik Lawana Indonesia lies in the incorporation of the Topeng Malangan culture as its visual hallmark, which is applied to several products and adopted as the name of its collections. The visual identity design process uses methods from the book Designing Brand Identity. The final result of this design process produces a new identity for Lawana Batik Indonesia with three main keywords: boldness, cultural, and exploratory, which reflect the uniqueness, essence, and meaning of the brand. Additionally, the final outcome includes a design system that serves as the foundation for this new visual identity, encompassing elements such as the logo, color palette, typography, elements, grid system, and photography system, all crafted to form a consistent and appealing representation of the Lawana Batik Indonesia brand.
