Perancangan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pemahaman bahwa manusia sebagai makhluk dapat merasakan emosi, termasuk kesedihan atau grief. Kesedihan ini merupakan emosi yang akan tetap dirasakan oleh manusia yang dapat dipicu oleh berbagai faktor, seperti kehilangan orang yang dicintai. Buku "Wildflower and Other Metaphors" karya Edira Putri menjadi landasan untuk menyampaikan pengalaman pribadi tentang kesedihan melalui puisi. Namun, dalam buku tersebut belum terdapat unsur visual yang dapat memperkuat pemahaman pembaca terhadap puisi secara emosional dan rasional. Oleh karena itu, perancangan ini bertujuan untuk menciptakan buku ilustrasi yang dapat memvisualisasikan puisi-puisi dari buku tersebut, memberikan dimensi baru dalam penyampaian pesan dan membantu pemirsa merasakan emosi dalam puisi secara lebih mendalam. Dengan adanya proyek ini, diharapkan dapat memberikan manfaat dalam memahami dan mengatasi perasaan kesedihan. / This project is underpinned by the understanding that humans, as sentient beings, are capable of experiencing emotions, including sadness or grief. Such sorrow constitutes an emotion persistently felt by individuals and can be triggered by various factors, such as the loss of a loved one. Edira Putri's book, "Wildflower and Other Metaphors," serves as the foundation for conveying personal experiences of sadness through poetry. However, the absence of visual elements within the book detracts from enhancing the reader's emotional and rational comprehension of the poetry. Therefore, the aim of this design is to create an illustrated book that can visualize the poems from the aforementioned publication, thereby introducing a new dimension to message delivery and assisting the audience in experiencing the emotions within the poetry more profoundly. With the inception of this project, it is anticipated to provide benefits in comprehending and coping with feelings of sorrow.
