Abstract

GOR Bulungan was built on Ali Sadikin’s government era in Jakarta. The first goal of this project is to provide the facilities that support the citizen especially for youth people. Time goes by, but the reality was says different to ex-governor’s hope. The existing GOR Bulungan was left by the user, the building activities are dying. To find the problems why does people have no interest to use the facilities, then the writer have to do some research. The research source are from the article, the books, case studies, and some conversation with the users, the youth, and the officers on Buliding Management. The results was reveal the question, people are not interested to go there because the lack of facilities, bad and close building image make the lost of appearance on that place. Trying to solve the problems the new building was developed with new concepts of activity center that supports the need in this time to replace the formerly building. Sports, art, education with entertainment was the answer to attract the public, especially youth to do activity in there. The openness image of the new building was need to show the appearance of the new building as a public space for the citizen there. / GOR Bulungan dibangun pada masa pemerintahan Gubernur Ali Sadikin di Jakarta. Tujuan awal proyek ini adalah untuk menyediakan fasilitas umum khususnya remaja untuk beraktivitas. Waktu berjalan, tetapi kenyataan berbicara berbeda pada harapan sang gubernur. GOR Bulungan ditinggalkan oleh para penggunannya, aktivitas di dalamnya sudah hampir mati. Untuk mencari permasalahan mengapa orang tidak tertarik untuk menggunakan fasilitas, maka penulis melakukan beberapa studi. Studi bersumber pada artikel, buku-buku, studi kasus, dan beberapa perbincangan dengan pengguna, remaja, dan pengelola gedung. Hasil dari studi menjawab pertanyaan, orang sudah tidak tertarik lagi kesana karena fasilitas yang kurang dan penampilan bangunan yang tidak menarik dan tertutup membuat keberadaannya hilang. Mencoba untuk memecahkan masalah, pembangunan gedung yang baru untuk menggantikan bangunan yang lama dengan konsep yang baru tentang pusat aktivitas yang mendukung sesuai dengan kebutuhan saat ini. Olahraga, seni, pendidikan, ditambah hiburan adalah jawaban untuk menarik perhatian masyarakat, khususnya remaja untuk beraktivitas disana. Kesan terbuka bangunan yang baru diperlukan untuk menunjukkan keberadaan bangunan yang baru sebagai ruang publik disana.
