Abstract

Istilah Game tidak asing di telinga masyarakat bagi segala umur. Perkembangan industri Game di Indonesia menjadi salah satu bentuk kehidupan masyarakat baik dari anak kecil hingga orang dewasa (Martono 2011). Salah satu game yang populer dan menjadi salah satu yang digemari oleh orang Indonesia yaitu game RPG yang bisa disebut juga Role-Playing game dari data survei yang dilakukan oleh Agate, perusahaan game lokal pada tahun 2012. Tetapi dalam perancangan ini akan lebih fokus ke arah concept art dibandingkan ke arah cara bermainnya. Menurut James Pickthall, Concept art adalah ilustrasi yang mencakup ide, desain dan suasana untuk produksi film, video game, animasi serta komik. Metode yang akan digunakan adalah mengumpulkan beberapa data atau riset dari berbagai sumber yang terpercaya yang berupa dari jurnal ilmiah, buku elektronik, artikel atau website. Selain itu melakukan wawancara terhadap pembuat novel katarsis.Tujuan dari proyek ini adalah untuk membuka peluang bagi yang ingin mengembangkan konsep ke sebuah video game berupa rpg yang bertema serupa serta membuat video game lainnya dengan concept art yang sudah dibuat.Kata kunci: video game, concept art, awarness, RPG, katarsis. / Term game is familiar to people of all ages. The development of the game industry in Indonesia has become one of the forms of community life from small children to adults (Martono 2011). One of the popular games and one that is favored by Indonesians is RPG games which can also be called Role-Playing games from survey data conducted by Agate, a local game company in 2012. But this design will focus more on concept art than on how to play. According to James Pickthall, Concept art is an illustration that includes ideas, design and atmosphere for the production of films, video games, animation and comics. The method that will be used is to collect some data or research from various reliable sources in the form of scientific journals, electronic books, articles or websites. In addition, interviews with the author of the catharsis novel. The purpose of this project is to open up opportunities for those who want to develop the concept into a video game in the form of a RPG with a similar theme and make other video games with the concept art that has been made.
