Abstract

Pelajaran ilmu sejarah di Indonesia selalu diiringi oleh kejenuhan karena gaya belajar yang bersifat monoton. Akan tetapi, cara umum dalam Indonesia untuk mengangkat tema atau latar sejarah Indonesia adalah mengangkatnya menjadi media film. Video game adalah salah satu media interaktif yang dapat diakses secara mudah oleh masyarakat Indonesia masa kini. Akan tetapi, belum ada video game yang menangkat tema perang kemerdekaan Indonesia. Perburuan (2019) adalah film drama sejarah yang disutradai oleh Richard Oh yang mengadaptasikan cerita dari novel Pramoedya Ananta Toer dengan judul yang sama. Perburuan (2019) mengisahkan Hardo yang melibatkan dirinya pada pemberontakan tentara PETA terhadap tentara Jepang pada 14 Febuari 1945 dan kehidupannya menjadi buronan tentara Jepang. Film ini dirilis dua hari sebelum 17 Agustus untuk membangkitkan semangat kemerdekaan Indonesia, namun menurut kritik film semangat tersebut tidak tercapai di dalam film. Proyek ini bertujuan untuk mengadaptasi alur cerita dari film Perburuan (2019) untuk menghasilkan concept art referensi visual untuk sebuah video game dengan genre stealth yang menggunakan referensi artefak sejarah. Perancangan referensi visual ini menggunakan kata kunci stealth, tense, dan chaos sebagai landasan dasar tema. / History classes in Indonesia have always been commonly associated with boredom due to the nature of a linear monotonic learning experience. However, film is a media in Indonesia that has cultivated itself and a common prominent way of adapting local historical themes into entertainment. With the growing availability of technology, interactive medias such as video games are becoming more accessible to the Indonesian populace. Sadly however, there has yet to be a video game that considers the struggle for Indonesia’s independence as a theme. Fugitive (2019) is a historical drama film directed by Richard Oh which adapts a story from the novel written by Pramoedya Ananta Toer under the same title. Fugitive (2019) tells a tale of Hardo who decided to coalesce in the 14th of February 1945 PETA army revolt against the occupying Empire of Japan, and his life as a wanted criminal by the Japanese Army. The film was released two days before 17th August anticipating Indonesia’s Independence Day and an effort to raise the nationalistic spirit of the Indonesia people. On the other hand, local film critics mentions how the film was lacking in intensifying the nationalistic impression. This project aims to adapt the narration of the film “Fugitive (2019)” and create a visual concept reference for a stealth genre video game that incorporates historical artifacts as references. The keywords that will direct the visuals of this project are stealth, tense, and chaos.
