Abstract

Pediatric Brain tumors are the most common solid tumor of childhood and the no. 1 cause of death among all childhood cancers. In America, brain tumor’s prevalence is 21.42 per 100.000 population. Even though survival rate is improving, but the impact of treatment for long term quality of life is still a challenge. The data collected based on the inclusion criteria from patient’s medical records 2015-2017 period. Twenty-six pediatric patients with brain tumor excision surgery were evaluated using Peds Ql 4.0 Generic Core Scales. The evaluation included before and after condition of the patient. Peds-Ql 4.0 Generic Core Scales were divided into 4 categories; physical function, emotional function, social function and school function. They were analyzed statically using Wilcoxon test with p<0.05 considered as statistically significant. The result showed score before treatment score of Peds-Ql 4.0 Generic Core Scales were classified as medium functioning (58.54/92) and after treatment score of Peds-Ql 4.0 Generic Core Scales were classified as intermediate functioning (37.3/92). The conclusion is patient after treatment (surgery, chemotherapy, radiation) shows improved quality of life score using Peds-Ql 4.0 Generic Core Scales / Tumor otak anak adalah tumor tersering yang menyerang anak dan penyebab kematian no.1 pada anak dengan prevalensi 21.42 per 100.000 penduduk di Amerika. Meskipun Survival Rate terus membaik, tetapi dampak jangka panjang pengobatan pada kualitas hidup anak masih menjadi sebuah tantangan. Oleh sebab itu peneliti ingin meneliti kualitas hidup anak sebelum dan sesudah pengobatan berupa, operasi, radioterapi dan kemoterapi. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan kriteria inklusi dan rekam medis pasien tahun 2015-2017. Sebanyak 26 pasien dengan operasi pengangkatan tumor otak dievaluasi menggunakan Peds Ql 4.0 Generic Core Scales. Evaluasi mencakup keadaan sebelum dan sesudah pengobatan yang dijalani pasien. Peds-Ql 4.0 Generic Core Scales dibagi menjadi 4 kategori; fungsi fisik, fungsi emosional, fungsi sosial dan fungsi sekolah. Data dianalisa menggunakan tes Wilcoxon dengan p<0.05 sehingga terdapat hasil signifikan dari data statistik. Hasil yang didapatkan sebelum pengobatan berupa skor kuisoner Peds-Ql 4.0 Generic Core Scales dapat diklasifikasikan sebagai cukup buruk (58.54/92) dan skor kuisoner setelah pengobatan dapat dilklasifikasikan cukup baik (37.3/92). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pasien setelah pengobatan (operasi, kemoterapi, radiasi) menunjukan adanya perubahan skor kualitas hidup menggunakan kuisoner Peds-Ql 4.0 Generic Core Scales.
