Abstract

The implementation of halal product standardization policy in the food and beverage industry by the Indonesian Council of Ulama (MUI) is a crucial aspect in ensuring consumer protection and maintaining the integrity of halal products. This research aims to investigate two main issues: firstly, the policy standardization of halal products conflicting with Consumer Protection Law, and secondly, the implementation of the halal product standardization policy in the food and beverage industry by MUI. The objectives of this study are to resolve legal issues regarding the implementation of the halal product standardization policy by MUI and to discover legal findings related to the policy's impact on the food and beverage industry. The research method employed in this study encompasses various aspects, including research type, data sources, data collection techniques, research approach, and data analysis steps. The findings of this research primarily focus on the halal product standardization policy by MUI, as well as the evaluation of its effectiveness. In conclusion, the implementation of the halal product standardization policy in the food and beverage industry by MUI presents several crucial aspects that need to be considered. These include the importance of collaboration between MUI and various relevant institutions, such as the Halal Product Guarantee Agency (BPJPH), government agencies, and business entities. Moreover, collaboration between MUI and government agencies, such as the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Trade, is essential for policy enforcement and oversight. Collaboration between MUI and the food and beverage industry is also crucial. Overall, the implementation of the halal product standardization policy by MUI requires strong collaboration and commitment from all stakeholders involved to create a conducive environment for the development of the halal food and beverage industry, thereby providing maximum benefits to society and ensuring reliable halal assurance.
