Abstract

Permasalahan pengelolaan sampah merupakan tantangan yang signifikan di Indonesia dan negara-negara lainnya. Meskipun pemilahan sampah merupakan langkah kunci dalam menjaga lingkungan, kesadaran masyarakat terhadap hal ini masih rendah. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pendekatan kreatif dan inovatif untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan partisipasi masyarakat dalam pemilahan sampah. Penelitian ini menggunakan permainan kartu pilah sampah sebagai pendekatan dalam mengedukasi masyarakat. Permainan kartu yang dirancang berfokus pada 6 kategori sampah yaitu plastik, kertas, kaca, logam, organik, dan elektronik. Konsep dari permainan ini adalah melakukan pengelompokkan sampah sesuai dengan keenam kategori yang ada. Telah juga disediakan tempat sampah mainan yang mewakili keenam kategori sampah. Permainan dimainkan secara berkelompok, dimana masing-masing kelompok mendapat 67 kartu sampah yang harus dikelompokkan dengan dimasukkan ke tempat sampah mainan. Total terdapat 3 dek kartu yang disiapkan untuk 3 kelompok yang dibedakan dengan warna pink, putih, dan kuning. Uji coba permainan dilakukan sebanyak 2 kali dengan rangkaian sesi pre-test, game play, dan post-test. Dari perolehan skor hasil pre-test dan post-test, terbukti bahwa rata-rata kedua kelompok data memiliki perbedaan secara signifikan dimana hasil post-test memiliki rata-rata yang lebih tinggi. Hasil ini diperoleh dari pengolahan Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test dengan nilai P-Value < 0,005. Perolehan skor hasil uji coba permainan (game play) menghasilkan persentase jawaban benar di angka 85%-97%. Implementasi permainan dilakukan pada acara Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat pada tanggal 13 Mei 2024. Dari penelitian ini, dapat dikatakan bahwa permainan kartu pilah sampah yang dirancangkan merupakan sarana yang efektif dan terbukti dapat meningkatkan wawasan pemainnya mengenai pemilahan sampah berdasarkan kategorinya. / Waste management is a significant challenge in Indonesia and other countries. Although waste segregation is a key step in protecting the environment, public awareness of this is still low. Therefore, a creative and innovative approach is needed to increase public understanding and participation in waste segregation. This research applied the waste sorting card game as an approach to educating the community. The designed card game focuses on 6 categories of waste: plastic, paper, glass, metal, organic, and electronic. The concept of the game is to categorize waste according to the six categories. Toy bins representing the six categories of waste are provided. The game is played in groups, where each group gets 67 waste cards that must be categorized by putting them into the toy bins. A total of 3 decks of cards were prepared for the 3 groups which were differentiated by color: pink, white, and yellow. The game trial was conducted twice with a series of pre-tests, gameplay, and post-tests. The pre-test and post-test results showed that the average of the two groups of data had a significant difference with the post-test results having a higher average. This result was obtained from the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test scoring with a P-value <0.005. The score obtained from the gameplay test results has reached a percentage of correct answers in the range of 85%-97%. The implementation of the game was conducted at the Community Service event on May 13, 2024. From this research, it can be said that the designed waste sorting card game is an effective tool and is proven to be able to increase the player's knowledge about sorting waste based on its category.
