Abstract

Pendidikan merupakan salah satu unsur utama dalam tujuan dari berdirinya negara untuk kemanusiaan. Sudah menjadi suatu permasalahan penting di tingkat global bahwa adanya kesenjangan pendidikan. Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa (PBB) sepakat membuat sebuah tujuan bersama bernama Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) untuk menjawab permasalahan kesenjangan pendidikan di seluruh dunia. Namun, dalam skala nasional yang lebih domestik, negara-negara kerap kesulitan untuk mengimplementasikan maksud dari SDGs nomor empat (mengenai kualitas pendidikan). Oleh karena itu, dengan menggunakan teori liberalisme, serta konsep-konsep penting seperti legislatif, pembangunan berkelanjutan, pendidikan berkualitas akan memberikan indentifikasi dan eksplanasi mendalam mengenai bagaimana peran negara yang dalam hal ini dilihat dari peran Komisi X Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Republik Indonesia (DPR RI) serta kerjasama internasional yang dilakukan oleh parlemen sebagai kunci untuk mencapai tujuan SDGs dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan kesenjangan pendidikan di Indonesia sesuai yang ditetapkan oleh PBB. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, metode penelitian studi kasus, dan data-data sekunder dari kajian literatur akademis serta interview langsung pada anggota Komisi X DPR RI penulis hendak meproyeksikan upaya-upaya dan peraen-peraen Komisi X secara lebih terperinci. / Education is one of the main elements in the goals of establishing a country for humanity. It has become an important global issue that there is an educational gap. The United Nations (UN) agreed to create a common goal called the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to address the issue of educational inequality worldwide. However, on a more domestic national scale, countries often struggle to implement the intent of SDGs number four (regarding quality education). Therefore, by using the theory of liberalism, as well as important concepts such as legislative, sustainable development, quality education, it will provide an in-depth identification and explanation of the role of the state, which in this case is seen from the role of Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) as well as international cooperation carried out by parliament as the key to achieving the SDGs goals in resolving the problem of education gap in Indonesia as determined by the UN. By using a qualitative approach, case study research methods, and secondary data from academic literature reviews as well as direct interviews with members of Commission X of the DPR RI, the author intends to project the efforts and roles of Commission X in more detail.
