Abstract

Tanah merupakan bagian penting dari bidang konstruksi. Tanah merupakan struktur dasar yang menopang bangunan dan konstruksi. Tanah lempung merupakan salah satu jenis tanah yang tersebar luas di Indonesia yang memiliki daya dukung rendah dalam menopang beban. Sehingga, perbaikan tanah diperlukan agar daya dukung tanah lempung dapat meningkat secara signifikan. Stabilisasi tanah merupakan salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan daya dukung tanah lempung. Stabilisasi tanah dapat dilakukan secara kimiawi dengan mencampur tanah dengan bahan stabilisasi. Kapur merupakan salah satu bahan stabilisasi yang sering digunakan. Bahan stabilisasi lain seperti serbuk marmer memiliki zat senyawa yang serupa dengan kapur dan dapat meningkatkan daya dukung tanah. Serbuk marmer merupakan salah satu limbah dari produksi batu marmer yang sangat sulit terurai, sehingga penggunaan serbuk marmer pada stabilisasi tanah dapat mengurangi dampak lingkungan. Setiap tanah memiliki jenis dan karakteristik sendiri. Oleh karena itu, pengujian karakteristik tanah perlu dilakukan. Pengujian karakteristik tanah yaitu pengujian kadar air, berat isi, Atterberg limit, berat jenis tanah, pengujian analisa saringan, dan hidrometer. Pengujian lanjutan dilakukan dengan kompaksi untuk mendapatkan kadar air optimum dan berat isi kering maksimum. Kadar kapur yang digunakan yaitu 1,5% dan 3% dengan variasi tiap kadar kapur ditambahkan dengan serbuk marmer masing-masing 3%, 6%, 9%. Pengujian kompaksi dilakukan untuk mengetahui kadar air optimal pada setiap variasi kadar bahan stabilisasi tanah. Parameter ini digunakan sebagai dasar pada pembuatan benda uji untuk kuat tekan bebas (Unconfined Compression Test). Daya dukung tanah dapat dianalisis dari hasil pengujian Unconfined Compression Test. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa dengan penambahan serbuk marmer dengan kapur dapat meningkatkan parameter kuat daya dukung pada tanah lempung. Nilai kuat tekan dan kuat geser undrained mengalami peningkatan pada setiap variabelnya, namun peningkatan paling signifikan terjadi pada variabel 1,5% kapur dengan 9% serbuk marmer, 3% kapur dengan 6% dan 9% serbuk marmer. Benda uji yang diperam terbuka mengalami keruntuhan secara instan pada saat mencapai kekuatan puncak dan terjadi penurunan daya dukung tanah seiring bertambahnya bahan stabilisasi tanah. Sehingga, pemeraman terbuka tidak disarankan untuk dipakai./ Soil is an important part of the construction field. Soil is the basic structural that supports buildings and constructions. Clay is one of the most widespread soil types in Indonesia that has a low bearing capacity in supporting loads. So, soil improvement is needed so that the bearing capacity of clay soil can increase significantly. Soil stabilization is one way to increase the bearing capacity of clay soil. Soil stabilization can be done chemically by mixing soil with stabilization materials. Lime is one of the most used stabilization materials. Other stabilization materials such as marble powder have similar compounds to lime and can increase the bearing capacity of the soil. Marble powder is one of the wastes from marble stone production, which is very difficult to decompose, so the use of marble powder in soil stabilization can reduce environmental impacts. Each soil has its own type and characteristics. Therefore, testing of soil characteristics needs to be done. Testing soil characteristics is testing water content, content weight, Atterberg limit, soil specific gravity, sieve analysis testing, and hydrometer. Further testing was carried out by compacting to obtain the optimum moisture content and maximum dry weight. The lime content used was 1.5% and 3% with variations of each lime content added with marble powder of 3%, 6%, 9% respectively. Compaction testing was conducted to determine the optimum moisture content at each variation of soil stabilization material content. This parameter is used as the basis for making test specimens for Unconfined Compression Test. The bearing capacity of the soil can be analyzed from the results of the Unconfined Compression Test. The results showed that the addition of marble powder with lime can increase the parameters of bearing capacity in clay soil. The undrained compressive strength and shear strength values increased in each variable, but the most significant increase occurred in the variable 1.5% lime with 9% marble powder, 3% lime with 6% and 9% marble powder. Exposed soil curing specimens collapse instantaneously at peak strength and there is a decrease in the bearing capacity of the soil as the stabilization material increases. Thus, open curing is not recommended for use.
