Teknologi informasi telah berkembang sangat pesat dan membawa banyak perubahan pada hampir setiap aspek kehidupan. Perkembangan teknologi informasi secara signifikan telah mengubah sistem informasi yang berbasis konvensional menjadi sistem digital. Perkembangan teknologi informasi yang ada di Indonesia ini juga mempengaruhi perkembangan praktek Notaris di Indonesia. Dalam lingkup kearsipan adanya teknologi informasi dirasakan berperan sangat penting terutamanya dalam hal efektifitas dan efisiensi dalam pelayanan publik dan penyimpanan dokumen dan berkas-berkas pelaporan administrasi suatu perusahaan. Bahwa Kemajuan teknologi telah memungkinkan catatan dan dokumen yang dibuat di atas kertas dialihkan ke dalam media elektronik atau dibuat secara langsung dalam media elektronik. Penelitian ini akan membahas kaitannya dalam dunia kenotariatan, bagaimana jika penyimpanan protokol secara elektronik dilakukan sebagai cadangan data (back up data) yang mana ini dapat meminimalisir penggunaan kertas (paperless), meminimalisir kerusakan minuta akibat bencana alam maupun dimakan rayap serta kemungkinan hilangnya arsip pelaporan, bahkan lebih jauh lagi bahwa minuta dan salinan akta dapat pula dialihkan dalam media scanning files sebagai bahan pengawasan kepada notaris dalam melaksanakan aktifitasnya. Karena protokol notaris yang merupakan arsip negara harus disimpan dan dipelihara dengan sebaik-baiknya oleh notaris. Dalam penyimpanan protokol notaris diperlukan proses kehati-hatian, agar protokol notaris tersebut tidak tidak tercecer, hilang atau rusak. Sebab kurun waktu penyimpanan protokol Notaris tidaklah sebentar dan dalam perjalanannya sering ditemukan resiko kerusakan atau bahkan kehilangan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penulisan ini adalah yuridis normative. Hasil dan kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah kajian dari bentuk penyimpanan protokol notaris secara elektronik sebagai rekam cadangan (back up data) dalam konsep e-notary atau cyber notary dan bagaimana pengaturan pelaksanaan jabatan notaris sebagai pejabat umum. / Information technology has developed very rapidly and brought many changes to almost every aspect of life. The development of information technology has significantly changed the conventional-based information system into a digital system. The development of information technology in Indonesia has also affected the development of Notary practice in Indonesia. In the scope of archiving, information technology is felt to play a very important role, especially in terms of effectiveness and efficiency in public services and storage of documents and administrative reporting files of a company. Technological advances have enabled records and documents made on paper to be transferred to electronic media or made directly in electronic media. This research will discuss its relevance in the world of notaries, what if electronic protocol storage is carried out as a data backup (back up data) which can minimize the use of paper (paperless), minimize damage to minutes due to natural disasters or eaten by termites and the possibility of loss of reporting archives, even further that the minutes and copies of deeds can also be transferred in the media scanning files as supervisory material for notaries in carrying out their activities. Because the notary protocol which is a state archive must be stored and maintained properly by the notary. In storing the notary protocol, a careful process is needed, so that the notary protocol is not scattered, lost or damaged. Because the period of storage of the Notary protocol is not short and in its course there is often a risk of damage or even loss. The method used in this writing is normative juridical. The results and conclusions of this research are a study of the form of electronic storage of notarial protocols as a backup record (back up data) in the concept of e- notary or cyber notary and how the regulation of the implementation of the position of notary as a public official.
