Abstract

The implementation of inclusive education continues to present challenges, especially the implementation of inclusive pedagogy. School XYZ Sentani is a school that implements it. XYZ School has teachers with different educational backgrounds, experiences, competencies and commitments in implementing inclusive pedagogy. An effective principal role is needed to meet the needs of diverse teaching situations. The purpose of this study is to find out the principals' constraints in implementing inclusive education and provide an overview of the principals' situational leadership role in implementing inclusive pedagogy. This research is a qualitative research with a case study design. Twelve resource persons were determined through purposive sampling to obtain data sources. Data collection techniques were conducted through interviews, observations and document studies. Data validity testing was done by validation through triangulation. Data were analyzed by reducing, presenting, and concluding the data. The results of the study provide an overview of the obstacles faced by school principals in implementing inclusive education. The diversity of teachers' commitment in implementing inclusive pedagogy caused by positive emotions, emotional exhaustion, self-recognition, self-esteem, faith, and challenges faced in the inclusive classroom. Experience, educational background, professional training, and collaboration cause the diversity of teachers’ competencies in implementing inclusive pedagogy. In addition, the situational leadership role of school principals to adjust their leadership style to the level of competence and commitment of teachers in implementing inclusive pedagogy was found. / Implementasi pendidikan inklusif terus menghadirkan tantangan, terutama implementasi pedagogi inklusif. Sekolah XYZ Sentani merupakan sekolah yang mengimplementasikannya. Sekolah XYZ memiliki pengajar dengan latar belakang pendidikan, pengalaman, kompetensi, dan komitmen yang berbeda-beda dalam mengimplementasikan pedagogi inklusif. Peran kepala sekolah yang efektif diperlukan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan akan situasi pengajar yang beragam. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kendala kepala sekolah dalam implementasi pendidikan inklusif dan memberikan gambaran peran kepemimpinan situasional kepala sekolah dalam implementasi pedagogi inklusif. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Dua belas narasumber ditentukan melalui purposive sampling untuk memperoleh sumber data. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumen. Pengujian keabsahan data dilakukan dengan validasi melalui triangulasi. Data dianalisis dengan mereduksi, menyajikan, dan melakukan penyimpulan data. Hasil penelitian memberikan gambaran kendala yang dihadapi kepala sekolah dalam implementasi pendidikan inklusif. Keberagaman komitmen pengajar dalam implementasi pedagogi inklusif yang disebabkan oleh emosi positif diri, kelelahan emosional, pengakuan diri, penghargaan diri, iman, dan tantangan yang dihadapi dalam kelas inklusif. Keberagaman kompetensi pengajar dalam implementasi pedagogi inklusif yang disebabkan oleh pengalaman, latar belakang pendidikan, pelatihan professional, dan kolaborasi. Selain itu, didapatkan peran kepemimpinan situasional kepala sekolah untuk menyesuaikan gaya kepemimpinannya dengan tingkat kompetensi dan komitmen pengajar dalam implementasi pedagogi inklusif.
