Abstract
Researcher found classroom’s problems in the form of inadequate social
skills and inadequate communication skills of students. This study aims to analyze the
process of applying role-plating method to improve social skills and communication
skills, analyze the development of social skills and communication skills after the
application of role-playing method, and describe the obstacles that occur during the
process of applying role-playing method. This study was conducted at Kindergarten
School X in Jakarta Barat in 2019 with n=15. The study method used action research
method through the application of role-playing method in three cycles. Data collection
is done through observation. The results of the study show that the role-playing
methods, either on theme of the hospital, restaurant, and traditional market, can
improve students’ social skills and communication skills. The cycles stop at the third
cycle as the predetermined target at 80% has been reached. / Peneliti menemukan masalah di dalam kelas berupa keterampilan sosial dan
keterampilan berkomunikasi siswa yang kurang memadai. Penelitian ini bertujuan
untuk menganalisis proses penerapan metode bermain peran untuk meningkatkan
keterampilan sosial dan keterampilan berkomunikasi, menganalisis perkembangan
keterampilan sosial dan keterampilan berkomunikasi setelah penerapan metode
bermain peran, dan dan mendeskripsikan kendala yang terjadi selama proses penerapan
metode bermain peran. Penelitian ini dilakukan di TK A Sekolah X Jakarta Barat
dengan subjek sebanyak 15 anak. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode penelitian
tindakan kelas melalui penerapan metode bermain peran dalam tiga siklus.
Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi dan kemudian dianalisis. Hasil
penelitian menunjukkan metode bermain peran dengan tema rumah sakit, restoran, dan
pasar tradisional dapat meningkatkan keterampilan sosial dan keterampilan
berkomunikasi siswa. Penelitian dihentikan pada siklus ketiga, ketika target yang telah
ditetapkan sebesar 80% telah tercapai.
