Abstract
After the pandemic period, learning activities at school were again carried out face-to-face. Educators experience obstacles related to students' cognitive abilities and social skills. This experimental research aims to find solutions to problems faced after the pandemic, namely low understanding of mathematical concepts, ability to solve mathematical problems, and lack of confidence in communicating in front of the class. This research took a sample of 6th grade students at XYZ Elementary School in South Tangerang City, Banten. Confidence in communicating in front of the class was measured by filling in a 4 Likert scale questionnaire. Researchers chose the Think Pair Share method because this learning is student-centered and develops cognitive and social activities. The research results show that Think Pair Share is able to increase understanding of mathematical concepts and problem solving. This is proven by the Mann Whitney test with a significant value of 0.015 < 0.05 for understanding concepts and 0.027 < 0.05 for problem solving. There is no significant difference in confidence in communicating in front of the class of the control and experimental groups. This is proven by the Mann Whitney test, the significance value of the indicator of courage to express an opinion is 0.208 > 0.05 and the use of language for communication has a significance value of 0.124 > 0.05. Educators must be more creative to train students' confidence in communicating in front of the class. / Setelah masa pandemi kegiatan pembelajaran di sekolah kembali dilaksanakan secara tatap muka. Para pendidik mengalami kendala berkaitan dengan kemampuan kognitif maupun keterampilan sosial siswa. Penelitian eksperimen ini bertujuan untuk mencari solusi masalah yang dihadapi pasca pendemi yaitu rendahnya pemahaman konsep matematika, kemampuan menyelesaikan masalah matematika, dan kurangnya percaya diri dalam berkomunikasi di depan kelas. Penelitian ini mengambil sampel siswa kelas VI SD XYZ di Kota Tangerang Selatan Banten. Kepercayaan diri berkomunikasi di depan kelas diukur dengan mengisi kuesioner skala 4 likert. Peneliti memilih metode Think Pair Share karena pembelajaran ini berpusat pada siswa dan mengembangkan aktivitas kognitif dan sosial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, Think Pair Share mampu meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematika dan pemecahan masalah. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan uji Mann Whitney nilai signifikan 0,015 < 0,05 untuk pemahaman konsep dan 0,027 < 0,05 untuk pemecahan masalah. Kepercayaan diri berkomunikasi di depan kelas kelompok kontrol dan eksperimen tidak ada perbedaan signifikan. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan uji Mann Whitney indikator keberanian berpendapat nilai signifikansinya 0,208 > 0,05 dan penggunaan bahasa untuk komunikasi nilai signifikansinya 0,124 > 0,05. Pendidik harus lebih kreatif untuk melatih kepercayaan diri siswa berkomunikasi di depan kelas.
