Abstract
This research aimed to analyze the development of mathematical communication skills, learning outcomes, and students' self-efficacy in solving mathematical problems after implementing the scaffolding method using an educational game. The method used in this research was Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was conducted in three cycles, involving 19 students. The data analysis method in this research used a mixed approach involving quantitative and qualitative analysis. The data collection was obtained from the test results, observation sheets, and interviews with the students. Based on the research results, it was found that the mathematical communication skills increased with an N-Gain value of 0.3 in the medium category for each cycle. In line with the increase in the mathematical communication skills, the students’ learning outcomes also increased with the average post-test scores from Cycle 1 to Cycle 3 respectively, namely: 74.1; 79.8; 81.4. The students' self-efficacy has also increased which can be seen from their perseverance and not giving up easily in solving Mathematical problems in the game that provides help or instructions. Self-efficacy appears as an encouragement to achieve the goal, namely winning in playing the game. Thus, it can be concluded that the scaffolding method using the educational game can develop mathematical communication skills, learning outcomes, and self-efficacy of the Class IV students at SD XYZ Jakarta. / Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perkembangan kemampuan komunikasi matematis, hasil belajar, dan self-efficacy siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal Matematika setelah penerapan metode scaffolding menggunakan game edukasi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang memiliki tiga siklus dan diikuti oleh 19 siswa. Metode analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan campuran yang melibatkan analisis kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Pengumpulan data diperoleh dari hasil tes, lembar observasi dan wawancara dengan siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa kemampuan komunikasi matematis meningkat dengan nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,3 dengan kategori sedang untuk setiap Siklus. Sejalan dengan meningkatnya kemampuan komunikasi matematis, hasil belajar siswa juga mengalami peningkatan dengan nilai rata-rata post-test dari Siklus 1 sampai Siklus 3 secara berturut turut yaitu: 74,1 ; 79,8 ; 81,4. Self-efficacy siswa juga mengalami peningkatan yang dapat dilihat dari ketekunan dan tidak mudah menyerah dalam menyelesaikan soal Matematika dalam game yang terdapat bantuan ataupun petunjuk. Self-efficacy muncul sebagai dorongan untuk mencapai tujuan yaitu kemenangan dalam bermain game. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode scaffolding menggunakan game edukasi dapat mengembangkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis, hasil belajar dan self-efficacy siswa Kelas IV SD XYZ Jakarta.
