Abstract

The study used the Class Action Research (CAR) design to enhance the learning motivation and numeration skills of 5–6-year-olds at XYZ Jakarta school using virtual reality (VR) technology. The study lasted for five months with subjects from B-class children. Data was collected through observations and research instruments, with learning motivational indicators including attitudes towards learning, consistency, and exhaustion, as well as numeration skill indicators that included identifying large and small symbols, counting operations, and geometric shapes. After the implementation of VR in two cycles, there was a significant increase in the class average in learning motivation from 67 in pre-cycle to 75 in cycle II, while the numeration skills were from 67 in the pre-cycle to 84. The average grade rise exceeds the minimum requirement of 70. VR media has proven to be effective in creating an attractive and interactive learning environment, thereby enhancing student interest and involvement. The study suggests that teachers consider variations in learning methods and educational institutions to improve VR media use training. Integration of VR media with a learning curriculum in more detail is also recommended for future research. The results emphasise the importance of VR technology in early childhood education, especially at the age of 5–6 years, to enhance learning motivation and numeration skills./Penelitian ini menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan keterampilan numerasi anak usia 5-6 tahun di TK XYZ Jakarta dengan memanfaatkan teknologi virtual reality (VR). Penelitian ini berlangsung selama lima bulan dengan subjek anak-anak kelas TK B. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi dan instrumen penelitian, dengan indikator motivasi belajar mencakup sikap terhadap belajar, konsistensi, dan kegigihan, serta indikator keterampilan numerasi meliputi pengenalan simbol besar dan kecil, operasi hitung, dan bentuk geometri. Hasil pra-siklus menunjukkan sebagian besar siswa berada di bawah standar nilai minimal dan memiliki motivasi belajar yang rendah. Setelah implementasi VR dalam dua siklus, terdapat peningkatan rata-rata kelas yang signifikan dalam motivasi belajar yakni dari 67 pada pra siklus menjadi 75 di siklus II. Sedangkan keterampilan numerasi dari 67 pada pra siklus menjadi 84. Rata-rata nilai kelas meningkat melebihi ketentuan minimum 70. Media VR terbukti efektif dalam menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang menarik dan interaktif, sehingga meningkatkan minat dan keterlibatan siswa. Penelitian ini menyarankan agar guru mempertimbangkan variasi metode pembelajaran dan institusi pendidikan meningkatkan pelatihan penggunaan media VR. Integrasi media VR dengan kurikulum pembelajaran secara lebih rinci juga direkomendasikan untuk penelitian mendatang. Hasil penelitian menekankan pentingnya teknologi VR dalam pendidikan anak usia dini, khususnya usia 5-6 tahun, untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan keterampilan numerasi.
