The principle of Lex Sportiva states that sports competitions are governed by a single Transnational Institution that oversees a specific sport, in the case of football, it is FIFA. On the other hand, Indonesia has a set of rules (Indonesia’s Positive Law) that also regulates sports. Problems arise when Indonesia’s Positive Law intersects with Transnational Law. This research discusses foreign politics in this context. This study aims to provide a resolution on whether the principle of Lex Sportiva can be regulated and applied when intersecting with Indonesia's foreign political interests in football matches. The method used in this research is normative research with a qualitative approach. The results of this study indicate that in football matches or the organization of football matches, FIFA's sovereignty cannot be challenged. Indonesia, as a member of FIFA, must comply with the FIFA Statutes and all decisions/policies set by FIFA related to football matches or the organization of football matches.
