Abstract

Kata Kunci : apnea tidur, obstruktif, asma Referensi : 86 (2004 - 2024) / Background : Most adults with obstructive sleep apnea moderate to severe OSA are never diagnosed. The incidence of OSA is not given much attention by most people, while untreated OSA can cause long-term health consequences including cardiovascular disease, metabolic disorders, cognitive disorders, and depression. There are several groups of people who are at risk of OSA, one of which is people who have asthma. People with asthma, especially those who have a poor level of asthma control, are at risk of experiencing OSA and are at risk of developing long-term health problems. Objectives : To determine the relationship between the risk of OSA and the level of asthma control in Siloam Hospital Lippo Village patients using the STOP-BANG questionnaire. Hypothesis : There is a relationship between increased level of asthma control and reduced risk of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Methods : This research will use a cross-sectional study design. The sample was selected using the purposive sampling method. Data collection was carried out by filling out the STOP-BANG and ACT questionnaires. The research results will be processed using the chi-square analysis method. Result : This study involved 93 asthma patients. There were 54 (58.1%) having controlled asthma with 34 (63%) having a mild risk of OSA and 39 (41.9%) asthma patients having partially controlled/uncontrolled asthma with 24 (61.5% ) have a moderate/severe risk of OSA. Conclusion : The result of this study showed a significant relationship between the risk of OSA and the level of asthma control in Siloam Hospital Lippo Village Hospital patients (p = 0,034 and OR = 2,720).
