Abstract

The information system on the lockers is essential for accountability regarding the usage of the lockers. Lockers information system carried out manually often produce errors in collecting data and has a low accuracy of data. This thesis discusses how to manage information system and locking system with Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). To achieve the goal, this study has been divided into two parts: hardware design and software design. The connection between the microcontroller with RFID reader (MFRC522) was discussed in the first design. In the system, RFID reader acts as a bridge connection RFID Tag with Personal Computer. By using the node.js there are possibilities for us to connect RFID reader with PC. Furthermore, through the Apache Web Server, a script using JavaScript as a language, able the system to connect to the database utilizing MySQL.Website was created as a user interface in order to support interaction between user and the system, the website also enable user to enroll themselves which then allows them to use the locker system. Three types of testing are conducted on the created system. The testing cover testing tools, such as reading the RFID readers and RFID tags, and database access time and the software testing JavaScript, by debugging. The test results indicate that the system is ready to be implemented.
