Abstract

Kinerja penelitian mempengaruhi kemajuan ilmu dan inovasi yang kemudian akan mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi dan perubahan sosial. Perguruan tinggi berperan besar dalam peningkatan kinerja riset, dan akademisi adalah motor utama yang menjadi penggeraknya. Penelitian ini mengajukan sebuah model konseptual untuk menjawab pertanyaan penelitian tentang pengaruh Extrinsic Motivation, Intrinsic Motivation dan Research Self-Efficacy terhadap Perceived Academic Research Performance dengan mediasi Perceived Self-Leadership dan moderasi Academic Human Capital. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan unit analisis individu dosen perguruan tinggi Klaster Mandiri di Indonesia. Dengan menggunakan teknik purposive non-probability sampling dan pengumpulan data dengan survei cross-sectional diperoleh data dari 210 responden. Analisis data menggunakan metode analisis multivariat dengan PLS-SEM. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Academic Extrinsic Motivation mempunyai pengaruh positif yang signifikan terhadap Perceived Self-Leadership dan terhadap Perceived Academic Research Performance. Academic Intrinsic Motivation mempunyai pengaruh positif yang signifikan terhadap Perceived Self-Leadership, namun mempunyai pengaruh yang tidak signifikan terhadap Perceived Academic Research Performance. Research Self-Efficacy mempunyai pengaruh positif yang signifikan terhadap Perceived Self-Leadership, namun mempunyai pengaruh yang tidak signifikan terhadap Perceived Academic Research Performance. Perceived Self-Leadership memiliki pengaruh positif yang signifikan terhadap Perceived Academic Research Performance, memediasi secara signifikan pengaruh antara Academic Extrinsic Motivation dengan Perceived Academic Research Performance. Perceived Self-Leadership memediasi secara signifikan pengaruh antara Academic Intrinsic Motivation dengan Perceived Academic Research Performance, namun tidak secara signifikan memediasi pengaruh Research Self-Efficacy dengan Perceived Academic Research Performance. Academic Human Capital memoderasi secara signifikan pengaruh Perceived Self-Leadership pada Perceived Academic Research Performance. Kebaruan penelitian ini antara lain adalah penerapan variabel Perceived Self-Leadership untuk memprediksi kinerja riset dengan dosen sebagai unit analisis, serta kerangka konseptual yang mengombinasikan Academic Extrinsic Motivation, Academic Intrinsic Motivation dan Research Self-Efficacy untuk memahami peran Perceived Self-Leadership mendorong pencapaian kinerja riset. Studi ini memberi kontribusi terhadap ilmu pengetahuan dalam konteks peningkatan kinerja penelitian di perguruan tinggi, antara lain menjelaskan peran Self-Leadership sebagai prediktor kinerja. Implikasi manajerial penelitian ini mencakup rekomendasi bagi pengambil kebijakan dan pengelola perguruan tinggi untuk pengembangan Self-Leadership yang memperkuat peran motivasi ekstrinsik dan motivasi intrinsik dosen peneliti.
