A reliable system for monitoring valuable assets is very crucial. In relate to this concern, owner of CV Gunindo Utama Perkasa Industri deployed a monitoring system based on CCTV (closed circuit television) which particularly capture rooms situation in the main office. The recording only works as scheduled. In this internship job the existing system is improved by adding some features that enable the owner not only monitor the room remotely via web browser on LAN (local area network) connection but also capture and record at any time. To prevent the monitoring from unauthorized person or for illegal intention this system requires one to login by providing valid information. The new built system uses a database for storing and maintaining data. Besides, it uses a graphical user interface to interact with user. To stream the captured data to remote user, then Windows Media Encoder is used as an input streamer from the webcam. Through a number of tests, the new monitoring system provides more reliable data, as well as, accessible way to inspect any room under concern. Nevertheless, the future development can use high resolution camera with its implementation on the Internet.
