Abstract
Polusi udara, penuaan dini, pigmentasi, kemerahan, kulit menggelap dan kanker kulit merupakan efek samping yang diperoleh ketika kulit secara terus menerus terpapar oleh sinar matahari. Antioksidan merupakan senyawa yang digunakan untuk mencegah kerusakan yang disebabkan oleh radikal bebas terhadap sel, protein dan lemak. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan sediaan serum dengan menggunakan antioksidan alami yang bersumber dari kulit batang biwa. Kulit batang biwa mengandung senyawa kimia berupa senyawa alkaloid, flavonoid, tanin, saponin, fenol dan triterpenoid. Serum adalah sediaan cair yang sedikit kental yang memiliki warna bening atau semi-bening. sediaan serum menggunakan bahan alam lebih aman pada penggunaan jangka panjang dibandingkan dengan bahan kimia. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah uji aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak, optimasi basis serum, pembuatan sediaan serum, uji aktivitas basis serum dan sediaan serum dan uji stabilitas sediaan serum menggunakan cycling test. Hasil pada penelitian ini adalah formulasi optimal sediaan serum menggunakan gelling agent karbomer dengan konsentrasi 0,25%, karena merupakan basis serum yang diinginkan dengan tekstur tidak terlalu kental dan pH yang memenuhi standar. Ketiga formulasi mengalami perubahan warna dan penurunan pH pada proses uji stabilitas. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah diperoleh sediaan serum dengan konsentrasi ekstrak 0,35% lebih unggul dibandingkan dengan sediaan serum 0,15% dan 0,25%. / Air pollution, premature aging, pigmentation, redness, darkening of the skin and skin cancer are all side effects acquired when the skin is continuously exposed to sunlight. Antioxidants are compounds used to prevent damage caused by free radicals to cells, proteins and fats. The purpose of this study is to develop serum preparations using natural antioxidants sourced from the bark of biwa stems. The bark of the biwa stem contains chemical compounds in the form of alkaloid compounds, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, phenols and triterpenoids. Serums are slightly viscous liquid preparations that have a clear or semi-clear color. Serum preparations using natural ingredients are safer in long-term use compared to chemicals. The methods used in this study are antioxidant activity test of extracts, optimization of serum base, preparation of serum preparations, test of serum base activity and serum preparations and stability test of serum preparations using cycling test. The result of this study is the optimal formulation of serum preparations using gelling agent carbomer with a concentration of 0.25%, because it is the desired serum base with a not too thick texture and a pH that meets the standard. The three formulations experienced color change and pH drop in the stability test process. Based on the results of the research that has been obtained, serum preparations with an extract concentration of 0.35% are superior to serum preparations of 0.15% and 0.25%.
