Abstract

Berdasarkan pengamatan yang telah dilakukan oleh peneliti di kelas XII IPA SMA ABC Yogyakarta, peneliti menemukan bahwa siswa memiliki pemahaman konseptual yang rendah. Salah satu penyebabnya adalah siswa lebih senang menghafal materi pembelajaran akuntansi. Oleh sebab itu, untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, peneliti memutuskan untuk menerapkan model pembelajaran langsung sehingga pemahaman konseptual siswa dalam materi tahap pencatatan akuntansi perusahaan dagang dapat meningkat. Standar pemahaman konsep yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dalam tingkatan C2 dan C3 taksonomi Bloom. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Penelitian dilakukan selama dua siklus dari tangggal 09 November – 13 November 2015. Subyek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XII IPA yang terdiri dari 17 orang siswa. Hasil data penelitian dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif atau narasi dan kuantitatif sederhana. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan antara lain lembar tes siswa, lembar angket siswa, lembar observasi penerapan metode, pertanyaan wawancara mentor, dan jurnal refleksi peneliti. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran langsung yang terdiri dari lima langkah pelaksanaan telah dijalankan sesuai dengan tahapannya dan dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa yakni menjelaskan kembali menggunakan kalimat sendiri, mengklasifikasikan objek dan menggunakan prosedur terhadap materi pencatatan akuntansi perusahaan dagang di kelas XII SMA ABC Yogyakarta / Based on observation of researcher which was done at grade XII ABC Senior High School, it was found that most of the students had low conceptual understanding. The main factor was lack of student‟s concept understanding because they tended to memorize the materials of accounting learning rather than understanding it. That‟s why, in order to overcome the problem, the researcher decided to implement direct instruction to increase the student‟s concept understanding. The standard of conceptual understanding used in this research is in C2 and C3 levels of Bloom's taxonomy. The method of this research was Classroom Action Research (CAR). This CAR was conducted on November 09th – November 13rd, 2015. The research‟s subject is the students at grade XII Science who were contained 17 students. Data results were analyzed by using qualitative descriptive analysis and simple statistic. Data‟s instruments that used in this research were individual quiz sheet, questionnaire sheet, researcher‟s reflection journal, mentor interview questions, and observation sheet for method implementation. Direct instruction model has been implemented according to it‟s steps. Based on the research‟s result, concluded that direct intruction model could be able to increase student‟s concept understanding about special accounting journals and general ledger accounting of trading company topic.
