Abstract

Microcontroller Based Control System of Tube Bending Machfoe is a controUer that is used to control tube bending process. 1n this research) tube bending process is visualized with a mechanical simulator. The control system is designed using three de motor with 240 pulses per revolution embedded encoder each, an ATMega 32 microcontroller as a main controller and LCD to show the results of controlling process. The control system is mounted on a mechanical simulator and connected with a PC. The system receives the data of Y-Iength between bends, B-rotation between bends, and C - angle of bend from PC. Motors are moved according to the instruction of the control system and the movement of motor is converted in the mechanical simulator into length to represent Y value, and angles to represent B and C values. A manual controller tool is also provided to control the system directly. The system is able to perform the movement of tube bending machine with a result that has a delta from input between movements of each motor. Delta for motor Y is 0.01 centimeter, delta motor B is 1.354 degree, and delta motor C is 0.792 degree. The process time for each motor wiJl be increased based on the target. Initialization process is needed prior to perform the bending processes, otherwise the error rate will be increased.
