Abstract
Latar Belakang: Acne vulgaris merupakan suatu penyakit inflamasi kulit kronis yang mempengaruhi unit pilosebasea. Produk olahan susu memiliki kandungan hormon 5-α reduktase dan prekursor DHT yang dapat merangsang kelenjar sebasea. Terdapat hasil yang tidak konsisten dari penelitian-penelitian sebelumnya.
Tujuan Penelitian: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan hubungan antara konsumsi produk olahan susu dengan kejadian acne vulgaris pada mahasiswa pre- klinik Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan tahun ajaran 2023/2024.
Metode Penelitian: Penelitian ini menerapkan desain studi analitik komparatif kategorik tidak berpasangan dengan metode potong lintang dan dilakukan terhadap 48 mahasiswa yang telah memenuhi kriteria. Penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) dan Global Acne Grading System (GAGS). Data akan diuji statistik menggunakan SPSS 26.0 dengan metode Chi-square.
Hasil: Hasil nilai p untuk semua item produk olahan susu, yakni whole milk (susu utuh) (p =0,313), susu skim (susu rendah lemak) (p =0,057), krim (p =0,522), es krim (p = 0,525), keju (p = 0,889), dan yogurt (p =0,266) berada di atas 0,05 (signifikan apabila p <0,05).
Kesimpulan: Tidak terdapat hubungan signifikan antara konsumsi produk olahan susu dengan kejadian acne vulgaris pada mahasiswa pre-klinik Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan tahun ajaran 2023/2024 / Background: Acne vulgaris is a chronic inflammatory skin disease that affects the pilosebaceous unit. Dairy products contain 5-α reductase hormone and DHT precursor which can stimulate the sebaceous glands. There have been inconsistent results from previous studies.
Objective: This study aims to find the relationship between dairy product consumption and the incidence of acne vulgaris among pre-clinical medical students at Pelita Harapan University in the academic year 2023/2024.
Method: This study applies an unmatched categorical comparative analytic study design using the cross-sectional method and is conducted on 48 students who meet the criteria. This research utilizes the Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) and the Global Acne Grading System (GAGS). Data will be statistically tested using SPSS 26.0 with the Chi-square method.
Results: The p-values for all dairy product items, namely whole milk (p = 0.313), skim milk (p = 0.057), cream (p = 0.522), ice cream (p = 0.525), cheese (p = 0.889), and yogurt (p = 0.266), are above 0.05 (considered significant if p < 0.05).
Conclusion: There is no significant relationship between dairy product consumption and the incidence of acne vulgaris among pre-clinical medical students at Pelita Harapan University in the academic year 2023/2024.
