Abstract

The ability of Indonesian verbal language, creativity, and social skill still become a concern for the teachers in the EY 3B class. This encourages the teacher to reflect and seek alternative solutions to take corrective actions through reading illustrated stories. This study aims to describe the process of applying reading illustrated stories, analyze the development of Indonesian verbal skill, creativity and children's social skill, and identify the obstacles when reading illustrated stories. This research methods called Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Data collection is done through observation, interviews and field notes. This activity is divided into 3 cycles and in each cycle data collection is conducted. Data is processed and analyzed qualitatively descriptive. The results of this study indicate that reading illustrated stories has been done according to the application process and there has been an increase in the ability of Indonesian verbal language, creativity, and social skills. / Kemampuan Bahasa Indonesia lisan, kreativitas, dan keterampilan sosial masih menjadi kerisauan guru pada siswa kelas EY 3B. Hal ini mendorong guru untuk melakukan refleksi dan mencari alternatif solusi untuk melakukan tindakan perbaikan melalui pembacaan cerita bergambar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses penerapan pembacaan cerita bergambar, menganalisis perkembangan kemampuan Bahasa Indonesia lisan, kreativitas, dan keterampilan sosial anak serta mengidentifikasi kendala-kendala yang dihadapi saat penerapan pembacaan cerita bergambar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan catatan lapangan. Kegiatan ini terdiri dari 3 siklus dan pada setiap siklus dilakukan pengumpulan data. Data diolah dan dianalisis secara kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pembacaan cerita bergambar telah dilakukan sesuai dengan proses penerapan dan terjadi peningkatan kemampuan anak dalam berbahasa Indonesia lisan, kreativitas, dan keterampilan sosial.
