Abstract
School and parents should understand that the development of the
children should be as a whole. A whole development of the children is including
of their motoric skill, emotional skill, and social skill. Based on the researcher’s
observation on the lesson activities in the Kindergarten 1 class of XYZ School
located in South Tangerang, some problems are found and become the
researcher’s concern as a teacher, such as: disability to communicate the feelings
and the reasons behind of it, disability to build a friendship, and the absence of
the playing time in the daily activities. This research aims is to developing the
emotional and social skill in children through activity of playing playdough. The
design of the research is classroom action research method. This classroom
action research method was carried out in one of the Kindergarten 1 class of XYZ
School in South Tangerang, with a total of 4 students as subjects of the research.
The findings showed that is the activity of playing playdough had resulted in the
increase of students emotional and social skill. / Sekolah dan orang tua harus paham akan perkembangan anak haruslah
secara utuh. Perkembangan anak yang utuh, didalamnya terdapat perkembanagn
motorik, emosi, dan juga sosial. Berdasarkan hasil observasi dari peneliti pada
sebuah kelas TK A dari Sekolah XYZ yang berlokasi di BSD - Tangerang
Selatan, beberapa masalah ditemukan dan menjadi perhatian peneliti sebagai
pengajar, diantaranya ketidakmampuan siswa dalam mengendalikan emosi,
ketidakmampuan siswa dalam menjalin persahabatan, dan ketidakadaan waktu
bermain di dalam kegiatan keseharian anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk
meningkatkan keterampilan emosi dan sosial anak usia TK A melalui penerapan
kegiatan bermain playdough di dalam kelas. Desain penelitian yang digunakan
adalah metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Metode penelitian tindakan kelas ini
dilakukan di salah satu kelas TK A sekolah XYZ yang berlokasi di Tangerang
Selatan, dengan 4 orang siswa sebagai partisipan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan
adanya peningkatan pada keterampilan emosi dan sosial yang dimiliki oleh
partisipan melalui aktivitas bermain playdough di dalam kelas
