Seiring naiknya popularitas game Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, game ini telah menjadi wadah bagi banyak pemain untuk berinteraksi dan menjalin hubungan, termasuk hubungan romantis. Penelitian ini akan mengeksplorasi bagaimana platform game ini memfasilitasi pembentukan dan pemeliharaan hubungan interpersonal, khususnya dalam konteks hubungan romantis virtual. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk melihat proses perkembangan hubungan romantis yang dijalin melalui Mobile Legend : Bang Bang menggunakan teori penetrasi sosial. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode fenomenologi. Data dikumpulkan dengan teknik wawancara atau in-depth interview. Subjek penelitian merupakan para pemain Mobile Legends : Bang Bang yang pernah atau sedang menjalin hubungan romantis melalui game tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa melalui game Mobile Legends : Bang Bang para pemainnya dapat membangun hubungan romantis secara dengan kedalaman yang intim melalui virtual sesuai dengan tahapan yang ada pada teori penetrasi sosial, yaitu tahap orientasi, tahap pejajakan afektif, tahap pertukaran afektif dan tahap pertukaran stabil. Melalui tahapan tersebut, para pemain dapat saling mengenal dan membuka diri antara satu sama lain. / As the popularity of the game Mobile Legends: Bang Bang increases, it has created a platform for players to interact and form relationships, including romantic ones. This study aims to explore how this game platform facilitates the formation and maintenance of interpersonal relationships, particularly in the context of virtual romantic relationships. The purpose of this research is to examine the development process of romantic relationships established through Mobile Legends: Bang Bang using social penetration theory. The research employs a qualitative approach with a phenomelogical method. Data is collected through in-depth interviews. The research subjects are Mobile Legends: Bang Bang players who have ever had or are currently involved in romantic relationships through the game. The findings indicate that through Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, players can develop intimate romantic relationships in a virtual setting in accordance with the stages outlined in social penetration theory: the orientation stage, the affective exploration stage, the affective exchange stage, and the stable exchange stage. Through these stages, players are able to get to know each other and open up to one another.
