Abstract

Mahasiswa pekerja menghadapi tantangan besar dalam menyeimbangkan tuntutan akademis dan profesional di dunia kerja yang dinamis. Tekanan tersebut seringkali memengaruhi produktivitas, kesejahteraan mental, dan kemampuan manajemen stres mereka. Komunikasi intrapersonal, yang meliputi self-awareness, self-regulation, dan self-motivation, diyakini berperan penting dalam mendukung adaptasi mahasiswa pekerja terhadap tuntutan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan bagaimana komunikasi intrapersonal membantu mahasiswa pekerja dalam mengelola tekanan ganda yang dihadapi. Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma konstruktivis dengan pendekatan fenomenologi kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam terhadap mahasiswa pekerja dan pakar terkait, serta dilengkapi dengan studi pustaka. Penelitian ini mengacu pada teori komunikasi intrapersonal dan adaptasi untuk menganalisis temuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa pekerja dengan kemampuan komunikasi intrapersonal yang baik mampu mengelola tekanan lebih efektif. Self-talk positif dan refleksi diri terbukti menjadi strategi utama dalam menjaga keseimbangan emosional dan motivasi. Selain itu, dukungan sosial dari lingkungan turut memperkuat self-awareness mereka, sehingga membantu mahasiswa dalam menerapkan strategi adaptasi yang lebih baik untuk mengatasi tantangan akademis dan profesional./ Working students face significant challenges in balancing academic and professional demands in a dynamic work environment. These pressures often affect their productivity, mental well-being, and stress management capabilities. Intrapersonal communication, encompassing self-awareness, self-regulation, and self-motivation, is believed to play a crucial role in supporting working students’ adaptation to these demands. This study aims to explain how intrapersonal communication helps working students manage the dual pressures they encounter. This research employs an constructivist paradigm with a qualitative phenomenological approach. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews with working students and relevant experts, complemented by literature review. This study is grounded in intrapersonal communication and adaptation theories to analyze the findings. The results reveal that working students with strong intrapersonal communication skills are better equipped to manage pressures effectively. Positive self-talk and self-reflection are proven to be key strategies for maintaining emotional balance and motivation. Furthermore, social support from their environment enhances their self-awareness, aiding students in applying better adaptation strategies to address academic and professional challenges.
