Abstract

Pesatnya perkembangan teknologi dan akses internet telah mendorong popularitas game online, khususnya di kalangan remaja. Game Valorant, dengan tingkat intensitas dan konten kompetitifnya, kini menjadi fenomena yang banyak diminati, namun juga menuai perhatian karena dampaknya terhadap perilaku komunikasi. Paparan konten yang agresif dapat memengaruhi perilaku remaja, terutama dalam bentuk agresivitas verbal saat berinteraksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji bagaimana intensitas bermain game Valorant berhubungan dengan agresivitas komunikasi pada remaja di wilayah Jabodetabek. Dengan menggunakan teori kultivasi, penelitian ini menguji 100 responden melalui metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan cross-sectional dan kuesioner skala Likert. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya korelasi positif antara intensitas bermain dan perilaku agresif dalam komunikasi, termasuk penggunaan bahasa kasar dan ekspresi emosi yang tinggi. Temuan ini menggarisbawahi pentingnya pengawasan dan regulasi konten game bagi remaja, guna meminimalkan potensi dampak negatif pada perkembangan sosial emosional mereka. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa intensitas tinggi dalam bermain Valorant berkontribusi pada agresivitas komunikasi remaja, sehingga diperlukan perhatian lebih dalam mengatur paparan konten game. / The rapid advancement of technology and internet access has driven the popularity of online games, especially among teenagers. Valorant, known for its intensity and competitive content, has become a phenomenon attracting much attention, yet also raises concerns about its impact on communication behaviors. Exposure to aggressive content may influence teenagers' behavior, particularly in verbal aggression during interactions. This study aims to explore how Valorant gaming intensity correlates with communication aggression among teenagers in Jabodetabek. Employing cultivation theory, the research examines 100 respondents using a quantitative, cross-sectional method with Likert-scale questionnaires. Analysis results reveal a positive correlation between gaming intensity and aggressive communication behaviors, including harsh language use and elevated emotional expressions. These findings underscore the need for monitoring and regulating game content for teenagers to mitigate potential negative impacts on their socio-emotional development. The study concludes that high-intensity gaming in Valorant contributes to communication aggression in teenagers, calling for further attention in managing game content exposure.
