Abstract

Latar Belakang: Seiring berkembangnya teknologi, penggunaannya juga akan meningkat, dengan salah satu contohnya adalah penggunaan smartphone. Penggunaan smartphone memberikan dampak positif seperti kemudahan dalam mengakses fasilitas seperti internet dan media sosial, dan dampak negatif seperti penggunaan smartphone yang berlebihan dan mengganggu orang lain dalam aktivitas sosial./Background: As technology advances, its usage will also increase, one example being the use of smartphones. The use of smartphones has positive impacts, such as ease of accessing facilities like the internet and social media, and negative effects, such as excessive smartphone use that disrupts others in social activities. Tujuan: Mengetahui prevalensi mahasiswa yang melakukan phubbing dan dosen yang terganggu dengan phubbing./Objective: To know the prevalence of students who engage in phubbing and faculty who are disturbed by phubbing. Metode: Penelitian kualitatif ini menggunakan desain studi deskriptif kategorik dan akan melibatkan 200 mahasiswa dan 60 dosen dari Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan. Variabel kategorik akan dianalisa menggunakan metode deskriptif kategorik dengan non-probability quota sampling untuk sampel mahasiswa dan non-probability incidental sampling untuk sampel dosen yang dikumpulkan dari Maret hingga Mei 2024./Method: This qualitative research uses a categorical descriptive study design and will involve 200 students and 60 faculty members from the Faculty of Medicine, Pelita Harapan University. Categorical variables will be analyzed using categorical descriptive methods with non-probability quota sampling for the student sample and non-probability incidental sampling for the faculty sample, collected from March to May 2024. Hasil: Mahasiswa yang melakukan phubbing dalam kegiatan pembelajaran sebanyak 82,5%, sementara dosen yang terganggu dengan phubbing yang dilakukan mahasiswa sebanyak 55%./Results: Students who engage in phubbing during learning activities account for 82.5%, while faculty members who are disturbed by the phubbing done by students represent 55%. Kesimpulan: Mahasiswa melakukan phubbing dengan alasan penggunaan alat elektronik menunjang aktivitas pembelajaran mahasiswa, sementara dosen menanggapi phubbing yang dilakukan mahasiswa dengan cara meminta mahasiswa untuk mengulang materi yang sudah disampaikan./Conclusion: Students engage in phubbing because their use on electronic devices supports their learning activities, while faculty members respond to the phubbing done by students by asking them to repeat the material that has already been presented.
