Abstract
Latar belakang: Pruritus vulvae merupakan kondisi gatal pada vulva yang terjadi terus-menerus dan mengganggu. Salah satu faktor yang menimbulkan kejadian pruritus vulvae adalah perilaku personal hygiene saat menstruasi. Saat ini kejadian pruritus vulvae pasca menstruasi masih ditemukan pada 5.2 juta remaja putri di Indonesia. Situasi ini mendasari pentingnya menjaga perilaku personal hygiene selama masa menstruasi demi menimbulkan kesejahteraan fisik dan psikis serta meningkatkan derajat kesehatan seseorang. Tujuan penelitian: Mengetahui hubungan antara perilaku personal hygiene saat menstruasi dengan kejadian pruritus vulvae pada mahasiswi preklinik Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan. Metode penelitian: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analitik komparatif kategorik tidak berpasangan dengan metode cross sectional pada mahasiswi preklinik Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan yang memenuhi kriteria penelitian. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan mengisi kuesioner personal hygiene dan pruritus vulvae melalui google form yang diisi oleh responden. Hasil data diolah menggunakan uji statistik SPSS dengan metode Chi-square. Hasil: Dari 120 sampel yang terkumpul, didapatkan hasil bahwa hampir sebagian responden memiliki perilaku personal hygiene saat menstruasi dalam kategori cukup, yaitu sebanyak 59 (49,2%) responden. Dalam penelitian ini ditemukan juga bahwa sebagian besar responden tidak mengalami pruritus vulvae, yaitu sebanyak 86 (71,7%) responden. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh p-value sebesar 0,002 yang berarti terdapat hubungan antara perilaku personal hygiene saat menstruasi dengan kejadian pruritus vulvae pada mahasiswi preklinik Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan. Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara perilaku personal hygiene saat menstruasi dengan kejadian pruritus vulvae pada mahasiswi preklinik Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan. One of the factors influencing the incidence of pruritus vulvae is personal hygiene behavior during menstruation. Currently, there are 5.2 million adolescent girls in Indonesia experiencing post-menstrual pruritus vulvae. This situation underlines the importance of maintaining proper personal hygiene during menstruation to promote physical and psychological well-being and improve overall health. Objective: Determine the relationship between personal hygiene behavior during menstruation and the occurrence of vulvar pruritus in preclinical female medical students at Pelita Harapan University Faculty of Medicine. Method: This study was an analytical comparative categorical study using a non-paired cross-sectional method among preclinical female medical students at Pelita Harapan University Faculty of Medicine who met the study criteria. Data was collected by filling out personal hygiene and vulvar pruritus questionnaires through a Google Form completed by the respondents. The data was analyzed using the SPSS statistical test with the Chi-square method. Result: Out of 120 collected samples, it was found that nearly half of the respondents had a fairly sufficient level of personal hygiene behavior during menstruation, with 59 (49.2%) respondents falling into this category. The study also found that most respondents did not experience vulvar pruritus, with 86 (71.7%) respondents falling into this category. Based on the research results, a p-value of 0,002 was obtained, indicating a significant relationship between personal hygiene behavior during menstruation and the occurrence of vulvar pruritus in preclinical female medical students at Pelita Harapan University Faculty of Medicine.
Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between personal hygiene behavior during menstruation and the occurrence of vulvar pruritus in preclinical female medical students at Pelita Harapan University Faculty of Medicine.
