Abstract
Latar Belakang: Remaja dengan rentang usia 15-24 tahun merupakan kelompok umur yang masih rentan terhadap stressor, yang membuatnya juga rentan terhadap ansietas. Terutama ketika usia remaja baru memulai untuk mengasah kemampuannya dalam meregulasi emosi. Jika kemampuan regulasi emosi dilatih dan dikelola dengan baik, dapat membantu remaja dalam memproses sebuah situasi ataupun permasalahan. Maka dari itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kemampuan meregulasi emosi dengan gejala dan tingkat kejadian ansietas pada Mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan (FK UPH).
Tujuan Penelitian: Untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kemampuan meregulasi emosi dengan gejala dan tingkat kejadian ansietas pada Mahasiswa FK UPH.
Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan sebuah studi potong lintang yang dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari 2024. Peneliti membuat forum untuk membahas dan menjelaskan penelitian dan cara pengisian kuesioner. Kuesioner ERQ dan BAI disebar kepada minimal 74 Mahasiswa FK UPH dengan teknik non-probability sampling dan metode convenience sampling.
Hasil: Dengan minimal 74 responden, didapatkan 94 responden yang bersedia untuk mengisi kuesioner. Dari total 94 responden tersebut, terdapat 65 responden yang menggunakan strategi cognitive reappraisal dan 29 sisanya yang menggunakan strategi expressive suppression. Tidak terdapat korelasi yang signifikan antara kemampuan meregulasi emosi dengan gejala dan tingkat ansietas yang dibuktikan dengan hasil uji Kruskal Wallis p 0,778 untuk expressive suppression dan p 0,652 untuk cognitive reappraisal.
Kesimpulan: Tidak terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara kemampuan meregulasi emosi dengan gejala dan tingkat ansietas.

Background: Adolescents in the age range of 15-24 years old are prone towards stressors, which makes them also prone to have anxiety. Another reason to add to this issue is the ability to regulate emotions. Adolescence is the age where people are starting to really sharpen their ability in regulating emotions. This capability has a strong association with how adolescents will process a situation or problem. Therefore, this study aims to see the relevance of the ability to regulate emotion towards the symptoms and prevalence of anxiety among medical students in FK UPH.
Objectives: To investigate the relevance of the ability in regulating emotion towards the symptoms and prevalence of anxiety among medical students in FK UPH.
Methodology: This study is a cross sectional that was held in January 2024. ERQ and BAI questionnaires were distributed after a discussion session about the study and how to fill those questionnaires. The questionnaires are then distributed to at least 74 FK UPH students. Afterwards, filled questionnaires will be processed using non-probability techniques and convenience sampling methods.
Result: A total of 94 respondents are willing to be included in this study. 65 of them used cognitive reappraisal, and 29 of them used expressive suppression. There were no significant correlations between the ability to regulate emotion with symptoms and the prevalence of anxiety. This was proven with a p-value of 0.778 for expressive suppression and p 0.652 for cognitive reappraisal.
Conclusion: There were no significant correlations between the ability to regulate emotion with symptoms and the prevalence of anxiety.
