Abstract
This study aims to explore the factors that play a role in the development of self-compassion in adulthood from dysfunctional families. The study uses a phenomenological approach and thematic analysis, with data collection conducted through interviews. There are four informants from dysfunctional families whose self-compassion are measured in high scores. Based on the findings, it was found that the factors supporting self-compassion can be divided into three factors: internal factors, external factors, and additional
supportive factors. Internal factors include a growth mindset and spirituality, external factors encompass social support and life events, and for additional supportive factor is activities that increase mindfulness. / Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperdalam faktor-faktor yang berperan
dalam pengembangan self-compassion pada individu dewasa yang berasal dari keluarga disfungsional. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan fenomenologi serta analisis tematik, dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara. Terdapat empat informan berasal dari keluarga disfungsional yang memiliki skala self-compassion yang tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil, ditemukan bahwa faktor pendukung self-compassion terbagi menjadi tiga bagian: faktor internal, faktor eksternal, dan faktor pendukung lainnya. Faktor internal meliputi growth mindset dan spiritualitas. Faktor eksternal mencakup dukungan sosial dan life events. Lalu, faktor pendukung lainnya berupa aktivitas yang meningkatkan
mindfulness.
